Elemér Kondás
Elemér Kondás (born 11 September 1963) is a Hungarian football manager and former player. Managerial career Létavértes Kondás managed Létavértes between 2004 and 2007. Debreceni VSC Kondás was appointed as the manager of Debrecen in 2011. He started the 2011-12 with a seven consecutive wins. On 25 July 2016, he resigned after a defeat against Vasas SC on the second match day of the 2016–17 Nemzeti Bajnokság I season and after a double defeat in the second qualifying round 2016–17 UEFA Europa League defeat against Torpedo Zhodino. On 8 August 2016, he was replaced by the Portuguese Leonel Pontes. Kisvárda On 31 July 2018, he was sacked after two consecutive defeats in the 2018-19 Nemzeti Bajnokság I season. Elemér Csák (20 May 1944 – 2 June 2025) was a Hungarian journalist, editor, foreign correspondent, and radio and television reporter. A winner of the Táncsics and Karinthy Prizes for journalism, he served as the spokesman of the Hungarian government from 15 February 1995 to 30 June 1995. Biography Csak was born in Košice, Hungary, on 20 May 1944. In 1967, he graduated from Moscow State University with a degree in history and archeology. Elemér Somfay (28 August 1898 – 15 May 1979) was a Hungarian athlete who competed mainly in the pentathlon and competed at the 1924 Summer Olympics. Career Somfay competed for a Hungary at the 1924 Olympic Games held in Paris, France, in the Pentathlon, where he won the silver medal. The following year Somfay won the British AAA Championships title in the triple jump event at the 1925 AAA Championships. Somfay finished third behind Willem Peters at the 1927 AAA Championships. Elemér Berkessy (20 June 1905 – 7 July 1993), also referred to as Emilio Berkessy or Emil Berkessy, was a Hungarian footballer and coach. Playing career Berkessy joined Ferencváros in 1928, and with them he was the champion of Hungary twice, in 1927-28 and in 1931-32, helping his team winning the championship with a 100 percent result in the 1931-32 season. He was also part of the team that won the 1927-28 Hungarian Cup and the 1928 Mitropa Cup. He was also capped 7 times for Hungary. He then moved to Western Europe, first in the newly founded Division 1 with RC Paris, before moving to FC Barcelona. He won the Catalonia Cup with FC Barcelona both in the 1934–35 and in the 1935-36 season. Berkessy finished his player career in France with Le Havre AC of Division 2. Elemér Gergátz
Elemér Gergátz (6 May 1942 – 19 June 2019) was a Hungary, Hungarian veterinarian and politician, who served as Minister of Agriculture of Hungary, Minister of Agriculture between 1991 and 1993. During his ministership he tried to compensate farmers and agrarian workers as a result subdivided land structure formed which the main cause of difficulties of the Hungarian agriculture. The coalition between the Hungarian Democratic Forum (MDF) and the Independent Smallholders, Agrarian Workers and Civic Party broke up in 1992. Gergátz wanted to stay in the government so he was excluded from the party. Soon after he joined to the United Smallholders' Party (EKGP). Gergátz died on 19 June 2019, at the age of 77. Elemér Gorondy-Novák (''Novák''; 23 February 1885 – 14 May 1954) was a Hungarian military officer, who served as commander of the Hungarian Third Army during the Second World War. Career After the First World War he served as chief of staff of the First Division in the Hungarian Red Army. Later he joined to Miklós Horthy's counter-revolutionary National Army. He was promoted to general on 1 November 1934. Between 1 February 1935 and 1 October 1937 he served as commander of the 2nd Cavalry Brigade. On 1 May 1938 he became lieutenant general and an observer of the acceleration forces, and since 31 December 1938, of the cavalry. He was appointed commander of the Third Army on 1 March 1940. He commanded the army during the occupation of Vojvodina. He was promoted to cavalry general on 1 May 1941. He was deposed from the army commander position on 1 November 1941. Elemér Hankiss (4 May 1928 – 10 January 2015) was a Hungarian sociologist. His first wife was MEP Ágnes Hankiss. Career He was born in the town of Debrecen in eastern Hungary, where his father, János Hankiss was a professor of literature. He received his university degree in French and English languages from School of English and American Studies of the Faculty of Humanities of the Eötvös Loránd University in Budapest, where he later obtained a PhD. Following the 1956 Hungarian Revolution he spent 10 months in pretrial detention but was eventually acquitted. He was the president of the Hungarian Television from 1990 to 1993. It was a state-owned monopoly at the time, which he tried to turn into a modern, production- and viewer-oriented, competition-ready media company.
