Ela Lehotská (born 1973) is a Slovak actress. She has appeared in a Czech film '' Puritptýz'' and played Bep Voskuijl in the 2001 ABC miniseries '' Anne Frank: The Whole Story''. Urs Widmer (21 May 1938 – 2 April 2014) was a Swiss novelist, playwright, an essayist, and a short story writer. Biography Widmer was born in Basel in 1938, and for many years lived in Zurich. Widmer studied German, French, and history at the universities of Basel and Montpellier. Elisabeth "Bep" Voskuijl (; 5 July 1919 – 6 May 1983) was a resident of Amsterdam who helped conceal Anne Frank and her family from Nazi persecution during the occupation of the Netherlands. In the early versions of ''Het Achterhuis'', known in English as ''The Diary of a Young Girl'', she was given the pseudonym "Elli Vossen". Early life Bep was born in Amsterdam. She was the eldest of the eight children of carpenter Johannes Voskuijl and homemaker Christina Sodenkamp. When still a teenager, Bep worked as a chambermaid, waitress and shop assistant in order to earn money to support the large Voskuijl family. In 1937, Bep enrolled in the Instituut Schoevers, the evening school for girls and women who wanted to learn secretarial work. Bep excelled at her courses in German, stenography and accounting. David Eldridge (born 20 September 1973) is a British dramatist and screenwriter, born in Romford, Greater London, United Kingdom. His plays have been produced in the West End and on Broadway. He has written for stage, screen and radio. Career His plays have been performed at major new writing institutions in the UK, including The Royal Court Theatre, the Bush Theatre, the Finborough Theatre and the National Theatre. His stage adaptation of the film ''Festen'' transferred from the Almeida Theatre to the West End and Broadway. Theatre On The Balustrade
The Theatre on the Balustrade () is situated in Prague, Czech Republic. History Early history The theatre was founded in 1958. Its founders - Helena Philipová, Ivan Vyskočil, Jiří Suchý and Vladimír Vodička named their professional theatre after a street leading from the square to the river. Its first production, a musical collage titled ''If a Thousand Clarinets'' (Czech: ''Kdyby tisíc klarinetů''), was premiered on 9 December 1958. Three months later Ladislav Fialka and his mime group joined the company with their production ''Pantomime on the Balustrade'', and brought back fame to the almost forgotten theatre genre. Drama and mime companies coexisted at the theatre till Fialka's death in 1991.
