Eklent Kaçi
Eklent Kaçi (born January 29, 1999), also known as Klenti Kaçi is an Albanian professional Pool (cue sports), pool player. Kaçi won the WPA World Ten-ball Championship in 2021 and 2023 and reached the semi-finals of the 2017 WPA World Nine-ball Championship and final of the 2024 WPA World Nine-ball Championship. He has been the top-ranked player in the world of Nine-ball, 9-ball pool. Career Kaçi started playing pool at the age of eight. He has won the Albanian Snooker championships in addition to national pool championships, even though he never played snooker prior to his Federation asking him to join the event. Kaçi made his first European championship in 2013, for ten-ball, qualifying for the main knockout, and being eliminated in the round of 64. Laç
Laç (; sq-definite, Laçi) is a town and a former Municipalities of Albania, municipality in Lezhë County, northwestern Albania. At the 2015 local government reform it became a subdivision and the seat of the municipality Kurbin. It was the administrative center of the former Kurbin District. WPA World Nine-ball Championship
The WPA World Nine-ball Championship is an annual professional nine-ball pool tournament contested since 1990. The championship is sanctioned by the World Pool Association (WPA) and principally sponsored and organized by Matchroom Sport, who promote he event as the World Pool Championship. The championship is divided into men's, women's and wheelchair divisions. History In the summer of 1989, the World Pool-Billiard Association (WPA) began plans for a world championship tournament. The group sent invitations, rules, sports regulations and by-laws. Reception was positive, and a provisional Board was created. In March 1990, the inaugural WPA World Nine-ball Championship was held in Bergheim, Germany. 2018 Dynamic Billiard Treviso Open
The 2018 Dynamic Billiard Treviso Open, was the first Euro Tour 9-Ball pool event in 2018. The event was won by Albania's Eklent Kaçi who defeated Austria's Albin Ouschan 9–5 in the final. This was Kaci's first Euro Tour victory. 2017's Treviso Open champion Wiktor Zieliński lost in the last 32 of the event against Sergei Luzker. Top Euro Tour players, such as 2017 Overall winner Ralf Souquet did not compete at the event, as the event was held at the same time as the 2018 World Pool Masters. European Pool Championship (also called Dynamic European Championships) is a pool competition organized by the European Pocket Billiard Federation (EPBF). The tournament is held annually since 1980. Mosconi Cup
The Mosconi Cup is an annual nine-ball pool tournament contested since 1994 between teams representing Europe and the United States. Named after American pool player Willie Mosconi, the event is comparable to the Ryder Cup in golf and the Weber Cup in bowling. Team composition and formats have varied over the years. , each team has five playing members. Each team also has a captain and vice captain, who may be among the players, or may be non-playing additional members of the team. Reyes Cup
The Reyes Cup is an annual nine-ball pool tournament contested between teams representing Asia and Europe. Similar in format to the Mosconi Cup, the inaugural event was held in Manila, the capital city of the Philippines, during October 2024 and is named after Filipino Hall of Fame player Efren Reyes, whom the event’s organizers describe as being “widely regarded as the sport’s greatest-ever player.” Asia won the inaugural event 11–6. Format The contest is played over four days between two teams of five players. Three players for each team qualify automatically and each captain can pick two wildcards. Fedor Alekseyevich Gorst (; born May 31, 2000, in Moscow) is a Russian American professional pool player. He has become a US resident, and now represents the United States in international events. Career In December 2018, Gorst reached 8th in the World Pool-Billiard Association (WPA) world rankings. Gorst won the U19 8-Ball European Pool Championship in 2017, before winning the 2018 Treviso Open on the Euro Tour. Gorst is also a Junior 9-ball world champion, winning the 2017 WPA World Nine-ball Junior Championship in the boys (Under 19) event. Gorst won the 2019 WPA World Nine-ball Championship, defeating Chang Jung-lin in the final 13–11.
