Eitel Friedrich II, Count Of Hohenzollern
Eitel Friedrich II, Count of Hohenzollern ( – 18 June 1512 in Trier, Electorate of Trier) was a count of County of Hohenzollern, Hohenzollern and belonged to the Swabian line of the House of Hohenzollern. He was the first president of the Reichskammergericht. As a close friend of the Archduke and later Emperor Maximilian I, Holy Roman Emperor, Maximilian I, he gained great influence in the imperial politics. He managed to consolidate and expand his own territory. The Eitel Building is an eight-story hotel building at the corner of Pike Street and 2nd Avenue in Downtown Seattle, Washington, United States. Originally built by the Eitel Brothers in 1904 to house medical offices, the building had been mostly vacant since the 1970s and described as an eyesore. In 2016, after several attempted purchases by local developers, the Eitel Building was sold to a development company that announced its intent to convert the building into a boutique hotel. The hotel renovation, which also added the eighth floor, cost $16 million and was completed in early 2019. The Eitel Brothers refers to a family of four brothers, Emil, Karl, Robert and Max Eitel, originating from Stuttgart in Germany who, from 1894, were hoteliers and restaurateurs in Chicago, US. They were well known for the luxury hotel Bismarck Hotel and restaurants such as the Marigold Gardens and the Old Heidelberg Inn. Eitel Hospital (later renamed "Doctors Memorial Hospital") is a former hospital building in Minneapolis, located across from Loring Park. It is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. The building is a brick building primarily in the Classical Revival style, made plainer when its original cornice was removed. History The hospital was founded by George G. Eitel in 1912 and served wealthy citizens of Minneapolis. The ''Minneapolis Journal'' first announced plans in 1906, and published drawings for a four-story hospital in 1907. Fund raising caused construction delays. In January 1911, the paper published renderings by Long, Lamoreaux & Long for a five-story hospital, and in June for eight stories. It was finally built as five stories on a basement. It featured sun porches with Navajo rugs and private rooms with brass beds and mahogany furniture. Ernst Johann Eitel or alternatively Ernest John Eitel (13 February 1838 – 10 November 1908) was a German-born Protestant who became a notable missionary in China and civil servant in British Hong Kong, where he served as Inspector of Schools from 1879 to 1896. Early life in Germany Eitel was born in Württemberg, Germany. Eitel studied initially at the Theological Seminary, Schönthal. In 1860, he graduated from the University of Tübingen with Master of Arts (and Doctor of Philosophy in 1871). He was appointed vicar of the state Evangelical-Lutheran Church at Mossingen for the next 12 months. Eitel Friedrich the younger of Zollern (1454 – Montfoort, 27 June 1490) was a German nobleman who served as Admiral of the Netherlands. He was the third son of Jobst Nikolaus I, Count of Hohenzollern (1433–1488) and Agnes of Werdenberg-Heiligenberg (1434–1467). Eitel Friedrich followed Maximilian of Austria to the Low Countries to fight against the Flemish rebellion.
