Eirlys Parri
Eirlys Parri (c.1950 – June 2024) was a Welsh teacher, singer and actress. She was also known by her married name Eirlys Eckley. Her music peaked at its most popular in the 1970s. Early life and education Eirlys Parri grew up in Sûn y Môr, Morfa Nefyn, a village on the north coast of the Llŷn Peninsula in Gwynedd, the daughter of John and Mary Parri. She attended Edern Primary School and then Pwllheli Grammar School. Her enjoyed music and singing and had the opportunity to act in Wil Sam's plays with her brother Elis Gwyn. She went on to Trinity College Carmarthen to study Welsh and Drama with contemporises like Norah Isaac and Carwyn James. She went on teaching practice in Llandudoch, Llanelli and Ysgol y Dderwen Carmarthen. Career Parri started composing songs and recorded the song "Pedwar Gwynt" in Harri Parri and Gareth Maelor's parlour in Porthmadog. Trinity University College
Trinity University College () was a Church University College in Carmarthen, Wales. The institution was founded in 1848 as the South Wales and Monmouthshire Training College, a teacher-training college. It changed its name in 1931 to Trinity College, Carmarthen; and in 2009 to Trinity University College. In 2010, it merged with the University of Wales, Lampeter to become the new University of Wales Trinity Saint David, with the Trinity site becoming the UWTSD Carmarthen Campus. History Trinity University College began life in 1848 as the South Wales and Monmouthshire Training College, making it the oldest teacher training college in continuous operation in Wales. The college's role was to train young men for teaching in Church primary schools. In the first year of operation, 22 students were recruited and were taught by three members of staff including the first Principal, William Reed.
