Romi Meitei is an Indian film director, screenwriter and lyricist who works in Manipuri films. He is a recipient of several awards at film festivals organized in India and abroad, including a National Film Awards, National Film Award. The Cinema of Manipur is the film industry based in Manipur, India. It includes not only Meitei language movies but all the films made in different languages of the different communities in Manipur. 1st Eikhoigi Imphal International Film Festival
The 1st Eikhoigi Imphal International Film Festival took place from 2 to 6 April, 2022 at Imphal, Manipur. The festival had screened 19 films from India and abroad with Manipur State Film Development Society, Palace Compound as its venue. The National Film Award for Best Manipuri Feature Film is one of the National Film Awards presented annually by the National Film Development Corporation of India. ''Imphal Free Press'' is an English-language daily published in Manipur, India. Alongside the Sangai Express, it is one of the two most widely read newspapers of Manipur. It is considered as one of the "good quality" newspapers, among approximately 40 papers in the state of Manipur. History The original Imphal Free Press was owned by Sapam Nishikanta.
