Eikesdalen
Eikesdalen is a river valley and a small village in Molde Municipality in Møre og Romsdal county, Norway. The river Aura flows through the valley. The village is located at the south end of the lake Eikesdalsvatnet at the mouth of the river Aura. Most of the valley is filled by the lake and until 1991, taking a ferry across the lake was the only access between north and south of the valley. The Mardalsfossen waterfall lies about northwest of the village. Eikesdal Church
Eikesdal Church ( no, Eikesdal kyrkje) is a parish church of the Church of Norway in Molde Municipality in Møre og Romsdal county, Norway. It is located in the village of Eikesdalen. It is the church for the Eikesdal parish which is part of the Molde domprosti (arch-deanery) in the Diocese of Møre. The white, wooden church was built in a long church style in 1866 using plans by the architect Jacob Wilhelm Nordan. The church seats about 100 people. History In 1862, the people of the Eikesdalen valley formally requested permission to build a chapel. The municipality council approved the request in 1864 and a royal decree on 31 December 1865, finally gave official approval for the new chapel. Eikesdalsvatnet is a lake in Molde Municipality in Møre og Romsdal county, Norway. The lake is long and narrow, roughly in length, and it is the largest lake in Møre og Romsdal county. The village of Eikesdalen is located at the southern end of the lake. Aura (Norway)
The Aura is a river in Molde Municipality in Møre og Romsdal county, Norway. It starts from Lake Aursjøen in the Romsdalsalpane mountains and flows first to the west and then north-west through the village of Eikesdalen before finally emptying into the large lake Eikesdalsvatnet. The river is long and has a catchment area of . Under natural conditions the river would have an average water flow at the mouth of , but this has been greatly reduced because of power development. Aursjøen
Aursjøen is a lake in Norway on the border between Lesja Municipality in Innlandet county and Molde Municipality in Møre og Romsdal county. The lake sits at an elevation of above sea level and is about around. The lake was dammed up in 1953 to provide water for the Aura power station. It flooded together with the nearby lake Gautsjøen. Mardalsfossen is a waterfall in Molde Municipality in Møre og Romsdal county, Norway. It is sometimes referred to as one of the tallest waterfalls in Europe. The falls are on the Mardøla river which flows out of a hanging valley into the lake Eikesdalsvatnet, about northwest of the village of Eikesdalen.
