Egon Sørensen
Egon Sørensen (16 February 1913 – 25 October 1981) was a Denmark, Danish amateur Football (soccer), football goalkeeper (football), goalkeeper and club manager, who played 18 games for the Denmark national football team. Due to World War II, 6 of his last 9 internationals were matches against Sweden men's national football team, Sweden. Sørensen spent his entire club career with BK Frem, playing 237 matches for the club. Egon Sørensen was a physically strong goalkeeper, able to play as an outfield player. At Frem, he was well trained by the shots of international centre forward Pauli Jørgensen, who later became team coach. Sørensen made his debut for the Danish national team in 1935, and competed with Aksel Daniel Nielsen and Ove Jensen to replace international veteran Svend Jensen. Danish Football Champions
The Danish football champions are the winners of the highest league of football in Denmark. The title has been contested since 1913, in a varying form of competitions. Since 1991, the winners have been found through the Danish Superliga championship. The Danish football championship is governed by the Divisionsforeningen. The early Danish football championships were decided in a single game, and the competition was not nationwide until its structure was altered before the 1927–28 season. Until the 1950s, the winners' list included teams exclusively from the Copenhagen area. Kjøbenhavns Boldklub (KB) thus won 12 of its shared record 15 Danish championships before the 1954–55 season, when Køge Boldklub became the first non-Copenhagen team to be crowned Danish football champions. 1938 World Men's Handball Championship
The 1938 World Men's Handball Championship was the first ever handball World Championship. It was played in Germany on 5 and 6 February 1938. Contested by just 4 national teams, the tournament was won by hosts Germany. History Only two years before at the fourth International Amateur Handball Federation, IAHF congress the first international rules for indoor handball were created. The only game between indoor handball national teams had been played between the Danish and Swedish teams in Copenhagen on 8 March 1935. Sweden had won 18 to 12. In Germany and Austria indoor handball was not regularly played and they had no international appearance yet.
