Egebergs Ærespris
The Egebergs Ærespris ("Honorary Prize of Egeberg") is a prize awarded to Norway, Norwegian athletes who excel in more than one sport. The prize was created by Ferdinand Julian Egeberg, and consists of a bronze statuette modelled by sculptor Magnus Vigrestad. History In 1917 a donation of was given by chamberlain (office), Cabinet Chamberlain Ferdinand Julian Egeberg to the sports association Norwegian Olympic and Paralympic Committee and Confederation of Sports, Norges Riksforbund for Idræt. His donation was basis for the sports prize ''Kabinetskammerherre Egebergs ærespris for alsidig idrett''. The statutes for the award were agreed on 10 February 1920. The basic capital was not to be touched, while the fund's interests should be used for a prize given to a sportsperson who, during the last two years, had excelled in one sport and also showed eminent performances in another, completely different sport. Ole Reistad
Ole Imerslun Reistad (26 June 1898 – 22 December 1949) was a Norwegian military officer and accomplished sports person. He competed at the 1920 Summer Olympics in modern pentathlon, and also became Norwegian champion in the sport. He competed in military patrol at the 1928 Winter Olympics, winning the competition. During World War II he was leader of the training camp Little Norway in Canada. Personal life Reistad was born in Aker; the son of Christen Reistad and Gudborg Imerslun. He was married to Bergljot Huseby from 1927. He died in Oslo in 1949, only 51 years old. He is the great grandfather of Norwegian handball player Henny Reistad. Sports career In the pentathlon he finished fourteenth at the 1920 Summer Olympics and became Norwegian champion in 1922. Arne Larsen (cross-country Skier)
Arne Larsen (7 July 1909 – 29 May 1981) was a Norwegian cross-country skier who competed in the 1930s. He won a silver medal in the 4 × 10 km relay at the 1938 FIS Nordic World Ski Championships in Lahti. He also competed in long-distance running. At the Norwegian athletics championships he won silver medals in both 5000 and 10,000 metres in both 1938 and 1939. He also won bronze medals in cross-country running in 1937 and 1938. Henry Johansen
Henry "Tippen" Johansen (21 July 1904 – 29 May 1988) was a Norwegian association football, footballer who played as a goalkeeper (association football), goalkeeper for Vålerenga IF Fotball, Vålerenga. He later managed the club. Football Playing career Club career At club level, he played for Vålerenga IF Fotball, Vålerenga from 1923 to 1946. International career Johansen made his debut for the Norway national football team, national team in 1926 and played his last match in 1938. Johan Haanes
Johan Clausen Haanes (30 April 1912 – 21 March 2000) was a Norwegian tennis player, ski jumper, bandy player and track and field athlete. He was among Norway's best tennis players of all time. Early and personal life Haanes was born in Drammen as the son of businessman Thorgny Haanes and his wife Hedvig Kristine Clausen. He grew up in Aker, along with five brothers. He worked some years in a sports shop, and eventually started his own little sports shop in Oslo in 1936. In 1938 he married Claire Höckert. Several of his brothers were also sportsmen. His brothers Hans Jacob and Thorgny were tennis players, both National Champions in double (with Johan). His brother Sigurd was an excellent ski jumper who placed fourth at the FIS Nordic World Ski Championships 1937. Otto Berg (24 August 1906 in Bolsøy, Molde – 10 April 1991) was a Norwegian long jumper. At the 1936 Summer Olympics he finished tenth in the long jump final with a jump of 7.30 metres. Reidar Jørgensen (5 October 1904 – 22 September 1985) was a Norwegian middle-distance runner, cross-country skier, botanist and educator. Sports career He was born in Lillehammer. He competed in the 1500 metres at the 1928 Summer Olympics in Amsterdam, where he was knocked out in the first round. He was Norwegian champion several times in 800 metres, 1500 metres and 5000 metres. He took the 800 metres title in 1927 before Hjalmar Johannessen's dominance in the event started; and also the bronze medal in 1928 behind Johannessen and Olaf Strand. In the 1500 he won three straight titles in 1927, 1928 and 1929. A 5000 gold, his only national medal in the event, was added in 1931. He represented Lillehammer IF. After that he moved to Trondheim, changed clubs to SK Freidig and took a final national title in the 1500 metres in 1933. Armand Henning Carlsen (20 October 1905 – 8 May 1969) was a Norwegian speed skater who competed in the 1928 Winter Olympics. In 1928 he finished fifth in the 5000 metres event. He also started in the abandoned 10000 metres competition. He held the world record in the 10,000 metres distance between 1928 and 1939, clocking in 17:17.4 minutes at the 1928 World Championships.
