''Eels Time!'' is the fifteenth studio album by the American indie rock band Eels. It was released on June 7, 2024, through E Works/PIAS Recordings. Background ''Eels Time!'' features 12 tracks and was written by lead member Mark Oliver Everett at their first in-person sessions following the COVID-19 pandemic. It was recorded between Los Feliz, Hollywood Los Angeles and Crumlin, Dublin, Ireland, and features contributions from various artists, including Koool G Murder, The Chet, Tyson Ritter, and Sean Coleman. On February 29, 2024, the band announced ''Eels Time!'' and released the lead single "Time" alongside the news. The semi-titular opening "balmy acoustic number" is a track about the concept of time. Eels (often typeset as eels or EELS) is an American Rock music, rock band formed in Los Angeles in 1991 by singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Mark Oliver Everett, known by the stage name E. Band members have changed over the years, both in the studio and on stage, making Everett the only official member for most of the band's work. Eels' music is often filled with themes of family, death, and unrequited love. Since 1996, Eels has released fifteen studio albums, seven of which entered the Billboard 200, ''Billboard'' 200. Eels are ray-finned fish belonging to the order Anguilliformes (), which consists of eight suborders, 20 families, 164 genera, and about 1000 species. Eels undergo considerable development from the early larval stage to the eventual adult stage and are usually predators. The term "eel" is also used for some other eel-shaped fish, such as electric eels (genus ''Electrophorus''), swamp eels (order Synbranchiformes), and deep-sea spiny eels (family Notacanthidae). However, these other clades, with the exception of deep-sea spiny eels, whose order Notacanthiformes is the sister clade to true eels, evolved their eel-like shapes independently from the true eels.
