Edwin Rodríguez (baseball)
Edwin Rodríguez Morales (born August 14, 1960) is a Puerto Rican former professional baseball infielder and manager. He managed the Florida Marlins of Major League Baseball (MLB) from 2010 to 2011. He also played in the major leagues briefly in the early 1980s for the New York Yankees and San Diego Padres. Playing career Rodríguez was signed as an amateur free agent by the Yankees in . He played his first professional season with their Rookie league Gulf Coast Yankees 1980. He played three seasons for the New York Yankees and San Diego Padres. In 1983 he played his first season at the Triple-A level, with the Columbus Clippers team, an affiliate of the New York Yankees. That same year he was traded to the San Diego Padres, making his National League debut in 1983. With the Padres he played 4 more seasons. Triple-A (officially Class AAA) has been the highest level of play in Minor League Baseball in the United States since 1946. Currently, two sports league, leagues operate at the Triple-A level, the International League (IL) and the Pacific Coast League (PCL). There are 30 teams, one per Major League Baseball (MLB) franchise, with 20 in the IL and 10 in the PCL. The Baltimore Orioles (also known as the O's) are an American professional baseball team based in Baltimore. Fredi Jesús González (born January 28, 1964) is a Cuban-born American professional baseball coach (baseball), coach and manager (baseball), manager who is the current third base coach for the Atlanta Braves of Major League Baseball (MLB). He managed the Florida Marlins from 2007 to 2010 and the Braves from 2011 to 2016. González was fired from both managing positions. Carolina Mudcats
The Carolina Mudcats are a Minor League Baseball team of the Carolina League and the Single-A affiliate of the Milwaukee Brewers. They are located in Zebulon, North Carolina, a suburb of Raleigh, North Carolina, Raleigh, and play their home games at Five County Stadium. "Mudcats" is a Southern synonym for catfish. Gulf Coast League
The Florida Complex League (FCL) is a rookie-level Minor League Baseball league that operates in Florida, United States. Before 2021, it was known as the Gulf Coast League (GCL). Together with the Arizona Complex League (ACL), it forms the lowest rung on the North American minor-league ladder. FCL teams play at the minor league spring training complexes of their parent Major League Baseball (MLB) clubs and are owned by those parent clubs. Admission is not charged to FCL games, and no concessions are sold. Every Grapefruit League team fields at least one team in the league. Night games are commonly played in the spring training stadium, although games may also be played at the team's practice fields. The South Atlantic League, often informally called the Sally League, is a Minor League Baseball league with teams predominantly in states along the Atlantic coast of the United States from New York to Georgia. A Class A league for most of its history, the league was promoted to High-A as part of Major League Baseball's 2021 reorganization of the minor leagues. The Greensboro Grasshoppers are a Minor League Baseball team based in Greensboro, North Carolina. They are members of the South Atlantic League and are the High-A affiliate of the Pittsburgh Pirates. The Appalachian League is a Collegiate summer baseball, collegiate summer baseball league that operates in the Appalachian regions of Tennessee, Virginia, West Virginia, and North Carolina.
