Mary Jane West-Eberhard (born 1941) is an American theoretical biologist noted for arguing that phenotypic and developmental plasticity played a key role in shaping animal evolution and speciation. She is also an entomologist notable for her work on the behavior and evolution of social wasps. She is a member both of the United States National Academy of Sciences and the American Academy of Arts and Sciences. Martin Forest Eberhard (; born 1960) is an American engineer and entrepreneur who co-founded Tesla, Inc. (then Tesla Motors) with Marc Tarpenning in July 2003, where Eberhard was its original CEO serving until late 2007. In 2015, he was inducted into the University of Illinois Engineering Hall of Fame. Eberhard I, Duke Of Württemberg
Eberhard I of Württemberg also known as Eberhard im Bart (Eberhard the bearded) (11 December 144524 February 1496) was the first Duke of Württemberg. After the death of his older brother in 1459 he became the Count of Württemberg-Urach as Eberhard V. In 1482 he signed the Treaty of Münsingen with his cousin Eberhard VI of Württemberg-Stuttgart reuniting Württemberg-Urach with Württemberg-Stuttgart under his rule. In exchange his cousin was designated as his heir. He moved the capital to Stuttgart and in July 1495 he was elevated to Duke of Württemberg by Emperor Maximilian I. Eberhard was acquainted with a number of scholars and held education in high esteem. In 1477 he founded the University of Tübingen. Wolfram Eberhard (March 17, 1909 – August 15, 1989) was a professor of Sociology at the University of California, Berkeley focused on Western, Central and Eastern Asian societies. Eberhard II (131515 March 1392), nicknamed the Quarrelsome (), was Count of Württemberg from 1344 until his death in 1392. He ruled Württemberg alongside his brother, Ulrich IV, before forcing him out of power in 1362. Life Eberhard was born in 1315, the eldest son of Count Ulrich III and his wife Sophie (died 1344), daughter of Theobald of Ferrette. Eberhard Weber is a German double bassist and composer. As a bass player, he is known for his highly distinctive tone and phrasing. Weber's compositions blend chamber jazz, European classical music, minimalism and ambient music, and are regarded as characteristic examples of the ECM (record label), ECM Records sound. His father was a music teacher which meant that Weber received classical music training growing up, beginning on the cello at 6 years old. Fritz Eberhard (2 October 1896 – 30 March 1982) was a German journalist, anti-fascist and social democrat and fought in the German Resistance against Nazism. Dennis Eberhard (1943-2005) was an American composer. In his youth he was crippled by polio, which contributed to respiratory problems that contributed to his death in 2005. Eberhard was an active composer for more than 30 years and was a member of the Cleveland Composers Guild and Vox Novus. Georges Eberhard (1865–1926) was a Swiss watchmaker and industrialist who founded Eberhard & Co. Biography Early life Georges-Lucien Eberhard was born in 1865 in Saint-Imier, the son of a prominent Bernese family tracing its origins back to the 10th century. The Eberhard family had been instrumental in the early development of the Swiss watchmaking industry. Georges's father initiated him to the art of watch making. Eberhard was only 22 when he moved to La Chaux-de-Fonds, the historic birthplace of the watch-making industry, where he founded its own factory, Eberhard & Co.
