Earthwar
"Earthwar" is a comic book story arc that was published by American company DC Comics, presented in ''Superboy and the Legion of Super-Heroes'' #241-245 (July–November 1978). It was written by Paul Levitz, pencilled by James Sherman and Joe Staton and inked by Bob McLeod. The story arc features the efforts of the Legion of Super-Heroes to halt a massive intergalactic war involving the United Planets, the Khunds, the Dominators, the Dark Circle and the sorcerer Mordru. The story arc also features the first appearance of Shvaughn Erin, a long-running supporting character in the various Legion titles. Paul Levitz
Paul Levitz (; born October 21, 1956) is an American comic book writer, editor and executive. The president of DC Comics from 2002 to 2009, he worked for the company for over 35 years in a wide variety of roles. Along with publisher Jenette Kahn and managing editor Dick Giordano, Levitz was responsible for hiring such writers as Marv Wolfman and Alan Moore, artists such as George Pérez, Keith Giffen, and John Byrne, and editor Karen Berger, who contributed to the 1980s revitalization of the company's line of comic book heroes. Early life Levitz was born and raised in East Flatbush, Brooklyn, New York. His father was a clerk for an industrial hardware store, and his mother was a bookkeeper. Mordru
Mordru, also known as Mordru the Merciless, is a supervillain featured in American comic books published by DC Comics. Created by writer Jim Shooter and artist Curt Swan, Mordru made his first appearance in ''Adventure Comics'' #369 (June 1968). Originally Wrynn, a scion of a notable family in Gemworld who sought power through black magic, released an entity whom served the Lords of Chaos, Wyrnn's mind was overtaken and replaced with a different being who christened himself as Mordru. James Sherman (comics)
James Sherman (b. 1948) is an artist known for his work in American comic books, movies, and logos. Career James Sherman is an artist and colorist who worked for DC Comics and Marvel Comics in the 1970s and 1980s. His first professional comics art appeared in '' Tarzan Family'' #65 and '' Blackhawk'' #248 (both cover dated Sept.–Oct. 1976). He drew the Challengers of the Unknown lead feature in '' Super-Team Family'' #8–10 in collaboration with writer Steve Skeates and inker Jack Abel. The Khunds are a fictional alien race in the DC Universe, notable for extreme violence. Gim Allon, also known as Colossal Boy, Leviathan, and Micro Lad, is a superhero appearing in books published by DC Comics, primarily as a member of the Legion of Super-Heroes in the 30th and 31st centuries.
