Earth X
''Earth X'' is a 1999 comic book Limited series (comics), limited series published by American company Marvel Comics. ''Earth X'' was written by Jim Krueger with art by John Paul Leon. Based on Alex Ross' notes, the series features a dystopian version of the Marvel Universe. The series was followed by two sequels, ''Universe X'' and ''Paradise X'', and a prequel, ''Marvels X''. The universe of ''Earth X'' is designated as Earth-9997 in the Marvel Comics Multiverse (Marvel Comics), multiverse. The ''Earth X'' incarnation of Spider-Man made his cinematic debut in the 2023 feature film ''Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse'', depicted as a member of Miguel O'Hara's Spider-Society. Alex Ross
Nelson Alexander Ross (born January 22, 1970) is an American comic book creator, comic book writer and artist known primarily for his painted interiors, covers, and design work. He first became known with the 1994 miniseries ''Marvels'', on which he collaborated with writer Kurt Busiek for Marvel Comics. He has since done a variety of projects for both Marvel and DC Comics, such as the 1996 miniseries ''Kingdom Come (comics), Kingdom Come'', which he also cowrote. Since then he has done covers and character designs for Busiek's series ''Astro City'', and various projects for Dynamite Entertainment. His feature film work includes concept and narrative art for ''Spider-Man (2002 film), Spider-Man'' (2002) and ''Spider-Man 2'' (2004), and DVD packaging art for the M. Night Shyamalan film ''Unbreakable (film), Unbreakable'' (2000).
