Earl Weaver Baseball
Earl Weaver Baseball is a baseball video game (1987) designed by Don Daglow and Eddie Dombrower and published by Electronic Arts. The artificial intelligence for the computer manager was provided by Baseball Hall of Fame member Earl Weaver, then manager of the Baltimore Orioles. ''EWB'' was a major hit, and along with ''John Madden Football'' helped pave the way for the EA Sports brand, which launched in 1992. A Sega Genesis version was planned but cancelled. Daglow and Dombrower had previously teamed together to create ''Intellivision World Series Baseball'' at Mattel in 1983, the first video game to use multiple camera angles and the first console sports sim. Daglow and Dombrower interviewed Weaver in his hotel room in a series of meetings over a period of months during the 1985 season for managerial AI. Education Without Borders (EwB), is a global non-profit organization established in 2002 in Vancouver, Canada. The vision of EwB is to empower at-risk children around the world by instilling a love of learning through educational opportunities. Its initial focus was Fezeka Secondary school in Guguletu, Cape Town, South Africa. Education without Borders provides educational opportunities for disadvantaged and at-risk children through initiatives in South Africa and Canada, including after-school support programs in Math, English, Science, school leadership and youth mentorship. Education Without Borders (Sudan) (EWBSudan) ( ar, تعليم بلا حدود) is a voluntary Sudanese social movement established in January 2011 to improve school education in villages across Sudan. History Established in January 2011 to improve school education in villages across Sudan, EWB ethoses is to activate the society and interact with it to grow and expand to the point of becoming as large as the society itself, then blend and dissolve completely resulting in a society that is concerned with education as an ongoing imperative issue. The group started with a number of university students and graduates. Its first activity was a campaign to collect used school books from families and private schools and redistribute them to the poorer students and schools. The campaign successfully distributed more than 5,000 books across Sudan. As of September 2022, the Facebook group had 29k members. New Bedford Regional Airport is a Part 139 Commercial-Service Airport, municipally-owned and available for public use. The airport is located northwest of the City of New Bedford, a city in Bristol County, Massachusetts, United States. The airport lies within Class D airspace and has an operating FAA control tower (0600-2300). The Acushnet Cedar Swamp borders the airport to the north. History New Bedford Regional Airport was constructed between 1940 and 1942 as a commercial airport, but was soon drafted into use for the United States Army Air Forces until the end of World War II as New Bedford Army Air Field. In April 1944, the Navy took over control of the airport and used it as a training post and naval auxiliary air facility (NAAF New Bedford) to the Naval Air Station Quonset Point in Rhode Island.
