Echelon is a warez group which specializes in the illegal release and distribution of copyrighted console games, such as Dreamcast and PlayStation 2 ISO images. They also created Demo (computer programming), demos on both platforms. Between September 4, 2000, and April 30, 2002, Echelon's Dreamcast division released 188 game titles and 34 other various fixes, tutorials, trainer (games), trainers, and loaders. On December 19, 2001, Echelon released ''Final Fantasy X'' as their first of several hundred PlayStation 2 titles. As of 2007, Echelon continues to release games for the PS2 platform. Echelon were a four-piece band hailing from Essex, England. Biography Guitarist Mark Brandon, bassist Owain North and vocalist Paul Usher met at an early age and played together in various lineups, however became serious about a career as a band following the recruitment of drummer Andrew Grant. Following a series of local gigs, the band caught the ear of Alan McGee in early 2004 who would subsequently sign the band to his Poptones label later that year. The band gained momentum, supporting bands such as The Others and The Boxer Rebellion and doing their own headline tour surrounding the release of their first single, "Plus". The single received airplay from renowned DJs such as Steve Lamacq and Tom Robinson, who made it single of the week on his BBC Radio 6 Music evening show. Echelon (originally Echelon Place) was a proposed $4.8 billion mixed-use project that was to be built on the Las Vegas Strip in Winchester, Nevada. Boyd Gaming announced the project in January 2006, as a replacement for its Stardust Resort and Casino. Echelon Place, to be built on , was to include a casino, 4 hotels providing 5,300 rooms, 25 restaurants and bars, and the Las Vegas ExpoCenter.
