E.T. Phone Home! (Atari 1983)
Several video games and genres have been created as a result of the release of the film ''E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial'' based on the story and themes of the original game. ''E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial'' (Atari, 1982) ''E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial'' was released in December of 1982 on the Atari 2600, only to a North American audience. The game was based on the original film released in the same year. Despite the popularity of the film, the game has been deemed one of the worst ever made. The game's problems stem from development being rushed at launch, only taking 5 weeks to develop. Atari, Inc. was an American video game developer and home computer company founded in 1972 by Nolan Bushnell and Ted Dabney. ''Pinball FX 3'' is a pinball simulator video game developed and published by Zen Studios and is the sequel to ''Pinball FX 2''. Toys-to-life is a video game feature using physical figurines or action figures to interact within the game. There are several technologies used to make physical figurines appear in game such as image recognition, quick response (QR) codes, Bluetooth and near field communication (NFC).
