Sweden was represented at the Eurovision Song Contest 1986 with the song "", written by Lasse Holm, and performed by Lasse Holm and Monica Törnell. The Swedish participating broadcaster, (SVT), selected its entry through 1986. Before Eurovision 1986 1986 was the contest for the 26th song to represent at the Eurovision Song Contest. 90 songs had been submitted to (SVT) for the competition; 10 of these were performed at the contest, which was held at Cirkus in Stockholm on 22 March 1986. It was presented by Lennart Swahn and Tommy Engstrand and was broadcast on TV1. No orchestra was used, and instead the ten songs were broadcast as music videos. The five songs that qualified for the second round were performed live to backing track. "Dover–Calais" is a ballad song written by Tommy Ekman and Christer Sandelin, and originally performed by Style (Swedish band), Style on 22 March 1986 at Melodifestivalen 1986, Melodifestivalen where the song ended up third. The song lyrics describe a love meeting between two people on board a ferryboat moving across the English Channel between the United Kingdom, UK and France in a pre-"Channel Tunnel, Chunnel" era. Kee Marcello (born Kjell Hilding Lövbom; 20 February 1960) is a Swedish guitarist and vocalist, best known as the former guitarist in the hard rock bands Europe and Easy Action. He has also pursued a solo career. Career Throughout the years, Marcello played in various bands such as Stetson Cody Group, Norbom Hilke and Noice, before he formed Easy Action in 1982. Per Gessle
Per Håkan Gessle (; born 12 January 1959) is a Swedish singer, songwriter and guitarist. He is best known as the male half and primary songwriter of the pop rock duo Roxette, which he formed with Marie Fredriksson in 1986 and which was disbanded after her death in 2019. The duo achieved international success in the late 1980s and early 1990s with their albums '' Look Sharp!'' (1988) and '' Joyride'' (1991), and topped the charts in the US four times, most notably with " It Must Have Been Love" which was featured in the film ''Pretty Woman''. "Kärleken är evig" ("Love is eternal") is a Swedish language song written by Torgny Söderberg and Per Gessle. Swedish pop music, pop singer Lena Philipsson sang "Kärleken är evig" at the Swedish Melodifestivalen 1986. Overview It finished in second place, scoring 42 points. The song subsequently peaked at number three on the Swedish Singles Chart.
