Donbas National Academy of Civil Engineering and Architecture ( uk, Донбаська національна академія будівництва і архітектури; abbreviated ДонНАБА) is one of the largest engineering universities in Ukraine. It was founded on 1 January 1972 as the Makiivka Civil Engineering Institute. Background The Academy has been training engineers for over sixty years. Its history starts in 1947 with the establishment of the civil engineering department of the Donetsk Polytechnic Institute. It was established as an independent institution in 1972. It was renamed on 23 June 1993 as the Donbas Institute of Civil Engineering. Kramatorsk
Kramatorsk ( uk, Краматорськ, translit=Kramatorsk ) is a city and the administrative centre of Kramatorsk Raion in the northern portion of Donetsk Oblast, in eastern Ukraine. Prior to 2020, Kramatorsk was a city of oblast significance. Since October 11, 2014 Kramatorsk has been the provisional seat of Donetsk Oblast, following the events surrounding the war in Donbas. The Donbas or Donbass (, ; uk, Донба́с ; russian: Донба́сс ) is a historical, cultural, and economic region in eastern Ukraine. Parts of the Donbas are controlled by Russian separatist groups as a result of the Russo-Ukrainian War: the Donetsk People's Republic and the Luhansk People's Republic.
