The nineteenth season of British science fiction television series '' Doctor Who'' began on 4 January 1982 with '' Castrovalva'', and ended with '' Time-Flight''. Peter Davison
Peter Malcolm Gordon Moffett (born 13 April 1951), known professionally as Peter Davison, is an English actor with many credits in television dramas and sitcoms. He made his television acting debut in 1975 and became famous in 1978 as Tristan Farnon in the BBC's television adaptation of James Herriot's '' All Creatures Great and Small'' stories. Davison's subsequent starring roles included the sitcoms ''Holding the Fort'' (1980–1982) and '' Sink or Swim'' (1980–1982), the fifth incarnation of the Doctor in ''Doctor Who'' (1981–1984), Dr. Stephen Daker in ''A Very Peculiar Practice'' (1986–1988) and Albert Campion in '' Campion'' (1989–1990). Tegan Jovanka
Tegan Jovanka is a fictional character played by Janet Fielding in the long-running British science fiction television series ''Doctor Who''. An Australian airline stewardess and a native of Brisbane who was a companion of the Fourth and Fifth Doctors, she was a regular in the programme from 1981 to 1984. Tegan appeared in 20 stories (65 episodes). According to producer John Nathan-Turner, when he was thinking of a name for the character, it was either going to be Tegan, after his partner's niece in Australia, or Jovanka, after Jovanka Broz, the widow of Yugoslavian President Josip Broz Tito, so he wrote both down on a piece of paper. Script editor Christopher H. Bidmead mistakenly believed that Jovanka was the character's last name rather than an alternative, and so christened her ''Tegan Jovanka''. Four To Doomsday
''Four to Doomsday'' is the second serial of the 19th season of the British science fiction television series '' Doctor Who'', which was first broadcast in four twice-weekly parts on BBC1 from 18 to 26 January 1982. The serial is set almost entirely on the spaceship of the alien Urbankan Monarch (Stratford Johns). In the serial, Monarch plots to invade Earth for its minerals using a deadly toxin to wipe out humanity so he can continue to make improvements to his ship. Plot The TARDIS materialises on board a vast and advanced spacecraft, observed by a hovering surveillance device which conveys the arrival of the crew to an observing being in control of the vessel. The TARDIS crew become separated and the Fifth Doctor and Tegan reach the bridge where the green-skinned commander introduces himself as Monarch, ruler of Urbanka, and his associates and fellow Urbankans are the Ministers of Enlightenment and Persuasion. Fiona Cumming
Fiona Cumming (9 October 1937 – 1 January 2015) was a Scottish television director, noted for her work on the BBC television series, '' Doctor Who'', during the show's Fifth Doctor era. Her credits included the 1982 episode, '' Castrovalva'', the Season 19 premiere which marked the debut of Peter Davison as the show's fifth Doctor. Her other work with the show included ''Snakedance'' in January 1983 and '' Enlightenment'' in March 1983 for season 20. Cumming shot much of the 1984 serial, ''Planet of Fire'', on location in Lanzarote, Canary Islands. Life Cumming was raised in Glasgow and Edinburgh, Scotland. She began her career as an actress at the Royal Scottish Academy. She appeared in both film and television. The twenty-second season of British science fiction television series ''Doctor Who'' began on 5 January 1985 and ended on 30 March 1985. It opened with the serial ''Attack of the Cybermen'' and ended with the serial ''Revelation of the Daleks''. The season returned to the traditional Saturday transmission for the first time since Season 18, but for the first and only time in the classic series' first run it featured 45-minute episodes in its entirety. During transmission, BBC One controller Michael Grade announced an 18-month hiatus for the series, partly citing the violence depicted in the stories of the season. The twelfth season of British science fiction television series ''Doctor Who'' began on 28 December 1974 with Tom Baker's first serial ''Robot'', and ended with '' Revenge of the Cybermen'' on 10 May 1975. This is the first season to feature Tom Baker as the fourth incarnation of the Doctor, an alien Time Lord who travels through time and space in his TARDIS, which appears to be a British police box on the outside. The Sontaran Experiment
''The Sontaran Experiment'' is the third serial of the 12th season of the British science fiction television series ''Doctor Who'', which was originally broadcast on BBC1 on 22 February and 1 March 1975. The serial is set on Earth more than 10,000 years in the future, immediately after the events of '' The Ark in Space''. In the serial, the Sontaran Field Major Styre ( Kevin Lindsay) performs experiments on humans he trapped there as part of the Sontarans' invasion stratagem. Doctor Who (season 4)
The fourth season of British science fiction television series ''Doctor Who'' began on 10 September 1966 with the First Doctor (William Hartnell) story '' The Smugglers'' and, after a change of lead actor (Patrick Troughton) part-way through the series, ended on 1 July 1967 with '' The Evil of the Daleks''. For the first time, the entire main cast changed over the course of a single season (the only other occasion this has happened is during Season 21). Only 10 out of 43 episodes survive in the BBC archives; 33 remain missing. No serials in this season exist in their entirety. The Highlanders (Doctor Who)
''The Highlanders'' is the completely missing fourth serial of the fourth season in the British science fiction television series '' Doctor Who'', which was first broadcast in four weekly parts from 17 December 1966 to 7 January 1967. In this serial, the Doctor (Patrick Troughton) and his travelling companions Ben (Michael Craze) and Polly (Anneke Wills) arrive in the Scottish Highlands in 1746, just after the Battle of Culloden. Antony Root is a British television executive and producer. He has worked in the United Kingdom, Europe and the United States. He is currently the executive vice-president of HBO Europe and head of original production for WarnerMedia EMEA. Education Root was educated at King's College School, Cambridge, Marlborough College and Christ's College, Cambridge, where he read philosophy and English. At Cambridge he was president of the Amateur Dramatic Club (CUADC) and junior treasurer of the Footlights revue group. David Banks (born 24 September 1951 in Hull, England) is an English actor, writer and author. He is best known for playing the Cyber Leader in the '' Doctor Who'' stories ''Earthshock'' (1982), ''The Five Doctors'' (1983), '' Attack of the Cybermen'' (1985) and '' Silver Nemesis'' (1988).
