Dobloug Prize
The Dobloug Prize ( sv, Doblougska priset, no, Doblougprisen) is a literature prize awarded for Swedish and Norwegian fiction. The prize is named after Norwegian businessman and philanthropist Birger Dobloug (1881–1944) pursuant to his bequest. The prize sum is 4 * 150,000 Swedish crowns (2011). Swedish Academy
The Swedish Academy ( sv, Svenska Akademien), founded in 1786 by King Gustav III, is one of the Royal Academies of Sweden. Its 18 members, who are elected for life, comprise the highest Swedish language authority. Outside Scandinavia, it is best known as the body that chooses the laureates for the annual Nobel Prize in Literature, awarded in memory of the donor Alfred Nobel. History The Swedish Academy was founded in 1786 by King Gustav III. Modelled after the Académie française, it has 18 members. It is said that Gustaf III originally intended there to be twenty members, half the number of those in the French Academy, but eventually decided on eighteen because the Swedish expression ''De Aderton'' – 'The Eighteen' – had such a fine solemn ring. Madeleine Gustafsson (writer)
Dagmar Helena Madeleine Gustafsson (born 2 July 1937) is a Swedish writer, translator and literary critic. Born in Gothenburg, Gustafsson graduated in philosophy from Uppsala University in 1961. She also has an honorary doctorate from Gothenburg University. Gustafsson has worked as a literary critic for various newspapers including ''Dagens Nyheter''. Her translations have included works by Marguerite Duras and Marcel Proust. In addition to essay collections, she has also published poetry. In 2013, she was awarded the Swedish Academy's Translation Prize. Gustafsson was also one of the three screenwriters behind the film ''Skyddsängeln'' (1990) which appeared in English as '' The Guardian Angel''. Kjartan Hatløy
Kjartan Hatløy (born 16 February 1954) is a Norwegian poet, and winner of the Dobloug Prize 2021. Career Hatløy made his literary debut in 1996 with the poetry collection ''Solreven'', a collection of short poems reflecting on aspects of nature. Later collections are ''Fjord'' from 2011, and ''Kjøkkendikt'' from 2012. With ''Kjøkkendikt'' he reached a wider public, and the collection was nominated for the Brage Prize. In 2016 he issued ''Den kvite vegen'', and ''Menneskedagar'' came in 2018. He was awarded the literary prize ''Diktartavla'' in 2015, and the Dobloug Prize in 2021.
