Dirty Vegas
Dirty Vegas are an English house music group initially made up of Ben Harris and Paul Harris (no relation) on instruments and production and Steve Smith on vocals. The group formed in 2001, then broke up in 2005 before reforming in December 2008 to record new material. They are best known for their international hit single " Days Go By", which gained mainstream popularity in a 2003 Mitsubishi Eclipse television commercial, and for remixing songs created by other artists. History Early success Dirty Vegas's debut release was the single "Days Go By." It originally made the top 30 in 2001, but when reissued in 2002 reached the top 20 in the UK. They released their self-titled debut album in June 2002 and a second album, ''One'', in 2004. The ARIA Charts are the main Australian music sales charts, issued weekly by the Australian Recording Industry Association. ''Electric Love'' is the third studio album by British electronica group Dirty Vegas. The album was met with positive reviews, and reached number 13 on the ''Billboard'' Dance/Electronic Albums chart. Critical reception The album garnered positive reviews upon its release. An AllMusic review, written by Jon O'Brien, gave the album 3.5 out of 5 stars, praising the production and the group's wide variety of influences, which he felt included New Order, Bloc Party, The Killers, Paul Van Dyk, Gary Numan, Ultrabeat, The Smiths, and The Clash. AllMusic also notes ''Electric Love'' as the best Dirty Vegas album, designating it an "Album Pick". ''One'' is the second album by British house music trio Dirty Vegas, released 18 October 2004 in the UK (see 2004 in British music). Release & promotion On August 6, band member Steve Smith delivered an acoustic performance of several of the songs from the upcoming album. The album was released by Capitol Records and Parlophone in Europe on 18 October 2004. A limited number of promotional two-record vinyl copies were also available. The album was later released in the United States, on 30 November 2004. Ahead of the album's release in the States, a club and theater tour was announced. The compact disc (CD) is a digital optical disc data storage format that was co-developed by Philips and Sony to store and play digital audio recordings. ''Dirty Vegas'' is the debut album by British house music trio Dirty Vegas, released in the United States on 4 June 2002. The album was successful in the United States, debuting at number 7 on the ''Billboard'' 200. It would spend 19 weeks on the chart and eventually going Gold. The album also spent 16 non-consecutive weeks at number-one on the ''Billboard'' Dance/Electronic Albums chart. The album features the radio hit " Days Go By" which was also used in a commercial for the Mitsubishi Eclipse and in the video game, '' DDRMAX2: Dance Dance Revolution''. The album artwork is done by American artist Richard Phillips. The Official Charts (legal name: The Official UK Charts Company Limited) is a British inter-professional organization that compiles various "official" record charts in the United Kingdom, Ireland and France. In the United Kingdom, its charts include ones for singles, albums and films, with the data compiled from a mixture of downloads, purchases (of physical media) and streaming.
