Definition Of Sound
Definition of Sound was a London-based dance-music group, consisting of Kevin Clark and Don Weekes, working with musicians Rex Brough (aka The Red King) and later Mike Spencer. Their second and fourth singles, "Wear Your Love Like Heaven" (1991) and "Moira Jane's Café" (1992) were in the Top 40 in the UK Singles Chart. The group also had several songs enter the U.S. Billboard Hot Dance Club Play chart, including "Moira Jane's Café", which hit No. 1 in 1992. Career Clark and Weekes first recorded together in 1988, using the name Top Billin. They released two songs, "Naturally" and "Straight From the Soul", on the Dance Yard record label before signing to Phonogram for the single " My Thing/Surprise". In 1990, the band signed to Circa in the UK and Cardiac in the US. Having changed their name to Definition of Sound, the duo recorded ''Love and Life: A Journey With the Chameleons'' (1991). Rex Brough
Rex Brough (born 1960 in Meriden, Warwickshire), also known as King John and the Red King, is an English record producer and editor of radio programmes, mainly for the BBC. His production work includes UK top 40 hits for Bomb the Bass, Betty Boo and Definition of Sound. After a brief time as a session musician, mainly for Pookah Makes Three, he became the live sound engineer for Harvey and the Wallbangers. As a recording engineer, he worked with a variety of people including Sinitta and Slim Gaillard. Dani Jacobs (born April 16, 1963) is a British music video director and editor. Background Jacobs was born in London, United Kingdom. He went to University of Manchester to study physics but left to pursue his interests in film. He worked at The Haçienda nightclub as a resident filmmaker and VJ, creating visuals and lighting effects to project in the club space. The nascent indie scene around Factory Records and dance music scene around The Haçienda assisted his entry into music videos. Directing career In 1986, Jacobs formed Swivel with three other partners as a video production company and creative team. Early music videos by Swivel included work for A Guy Called Gerald, James, The Jesus and Mary Chain, The Sundays and 808 State.
