De Haan, Belgium
De Haan (; french: Le Coq, ; vls, D'n Oane; literally ''The Rooster'') is a place and a municipality located in the Belgian province of West Flanders. The municipality comprises the villages of De Haan proper, Wenduine, Klemskerke, Vlissegem and Harendijk. On January 1, 2020 De Haan had a total population of 12,700. The total area is 46.14 km² (26.2 Miles) which gives a population density of 275.26 inhabitants per km². The coastal village of De Haan proper has maintained a low skyline so its many buildings in Belle Époque style are still prominently visible. The town has an 18-hole golf course situated in its dunes, founded by King Leopold II in 1903. Today, it is the only links course in the country. Its most famous resident was Albert Einstein, who lived in the villa "Savoyarde" for six months in 1933 after leaving Nazi Germany. Zuienkerke (; vls, Zuunkerke; french: Zuyenkerque) is a municipality located in the Belgian province of West Flanders. The municipality comprises the towns of Houtave, Meetkerke, Nieuwmunster and Zuienkerke proper. On January 1, 2006, Zuienkerke had a total population of 2,776. Blankenberge (; french: Blankenberghe; vls, Blanknberge) is a city and a municipality in the Belgian province of West Flanders. The municipality comprises the town of Blankenberge proper and the settlement of Uitkerke. On 1 December 2014, Blankenberge had a total population of 19,897. The total area of the municipality is 17.41 km², giving a population density of 1,142 inhabitants per km². The towns inhabitants are called Blankenbergenaars. Coast Tram (Belgium)
The Coast Tram ( nl, Kusttram) is a public transport service connecting the cities and towns along the Belgian (West Flanders) coast between De Panne, near the French border, and Knokke-Heist, near the Dutch border. De Lijn
Vlaamse Vervoersmaatschappij De Lijn (English: Flemish transport company ''De Lijn''), usually known as De Lijn (, "The Line"), is a company run by the Flemish government in Belgium to provide public transportation with about 2240 buses and 399 trams. De Lijn was founded in 1991 after the public transportation companies of Antwerp and Ghent fused with the Flemish part of the NMVB (Nationale Maatschappij van Buurtspoorwegen, or the "National Company of Neighborhood Railways"). Socialist politician Steve Stevaert of Hasselt implemented a policy allowing registered residents in Flanders aged 65+ to ride anywhere in Flanders free. Volley De Haan
Volley De Haan is a women's volleyball team based in De Haan, Belgium. The club was founded in 1968. The women's A squad currently plays in Ere Divisie, the highest level of the Belgian volleyball league pyramid. In the 2008–09 season, they achieved promotion to this level for the first time in their history, when they defeated penultimate placed Ere Divisie side VC Mosan Yvoir after playoffs. De Haan, champions of 2008–09 champions of First National League B, had missed the opportunity to promote directly after losing the playoffs against DV Hasselt, champions of 1st National League A.
