David Scott (Pearlfishers)
David Scott is the leader of the Scottish pop group Pearlfishers. Scott has been the main songwriter, producer and vocalist of Pearlfishers since their inception. Scott is also a member of BMX Bandits. He has produced recordings and played with a wide range of artists including Amy Allison, Alex Chilton, Yeon Gene Wang, Ricky Ross, Maher Shalal Hash Baz and Bill Wells. Scott also works as a broadcaster on BBC Radio fronting music documentaries and also has contributed music to many theatre productions in Scotland and co-organised all star tribute shows to Brian Wilson, Ennio Morricone and Serge Gainsbourg. Scottish People
The Scots ( sco, Scots Fowk; gd, Albannaich) are an ethnic group and nation native to Scotland. Historically, they emerged in the early Middle Ages from an amalgamation of two Celtic-speaking peoples, the Picts and Gaels, who founded the Kingdom of Scotland (or ''Alba'') in the 9th century. In the following two centuries, the Celtic-speaking Cumbrians of Strathclyde and the Germanic-speaking Angles of north Northumbria became part of Scotland. Pearlfishers
The Pearlfishers are a Scottish, Glasgow-based rock band, fronted by the singer and songwriter David Scott, who have been described by acclaim.ca as "one of Scotland's best-kept musical secrets". Other contributors include drummer Jim Gash, Dee Bahl, Brian McAlpine, Mil Stricevic and Duglas T. Stewart, also of the BMX Bandits. BMX Bandits (band)
BMX Bandits are a Scottish guitar pop band formed in Bellshill in 1986. Led by songwriter and lead vocalist Duglas T. Stewart, their music is heavily influenced by 1960s pop. They have shared members with numerous other local bands, including Teenage Fanclub and the Soup Dragons. BMX Bandits were a favourite band of Kurt Cobain, who said "If I could be in any other band, it would be BMX Bandits". In 2011, they were the subject of the documentary ''Serious Drugs: A Film About BMX Bandits''. History BMX Bandits were formed in Bellshill by songwriter and lead vocalist Duglas T. ''The Courier'' (known as ''The Courier & Advertiser'' between 1926 and 2012) is a newspaper published by DC Thomson in Dundee, Scotland. As of 2013, it is printed in six regional editions: Dundee, Angus & The Mearns, Fife, West Fife, Perthshire, and Stirlingshire. However, by 2020 this had been reduced to three regional editions for Perth and Perthshire; Angus and Dundee and Fife. Amy Allison
Amy Allison is an American country music artist and the daughter of jazz-blues musician Mose Allison. She became interested in country music as a kid growing up on Long Island, and first began making music as the lead singer of ''Amy Allison and the Maudlins''. She then joined Ryan Hedgecock to form the country duo Parlor James in 1994, before embarking on a solo career in 1996. Early life Allison grew up on Long Island, where she was raised by her parents, Mose and Audre Allison. She is the second of their four children. Alex Chilton
William Alexander Chilton (December 28, 1950 – March 17, 2010) was an American singer-songwriter, guitarist, and record producer best known as the lead singer of the Box Tops and Big Star. Chilton's early commercial success in the 1960s as a teen vocalist for the Box Tops was never repeated in later years with Big Star and in his subsequent indie music solo career on small labels, but he drew an intense following among indie and alternative rock musicians.
