Dunya
In Islam, ' () refers to the temporal world and its earthly concerns and possessions. In the Quran, "dunya" is often paired with the word "life" to underscore the temporary and fleeting nature of the life of this world, as opposed to the eternal realm of the afterlife, known as "akhirah". According to the Quran, humans and other communities have a limited time on earth before they pass on to the afterlife. In fact, the Quran teaches that everything that exists is temporary and will ultimately fade away. The pursuit of nearness to God in Islam, God is thus emphasized as the ultimate purpose in life, as only God's Being and Essence endure forever. Hadith, Prophetic traditions echo the Quranic teaching, emphasizing the importance of the afterlife, or "akhira" over the present world. ''Dunya'' () is the debut studio album by Canadian folk singer Mustafa, released on September 27, 2024, through Arts & Crafts domestically and Jagjaguwar internationally. Collaborators on the album include Aaron Dessner, Daniel Caesar, Rosalía, Nicolás Jaar, JID, and Clairo. Most of the album's writing and production was done abroad, including in North Africa, and its songs incorporate traditional Arabic musical instruments such as the oud. Dunya News () is a 24-hour Urdu language news and current affairs television channel from Pakistan. It is governed and operated by the National Communication Services (NCS). Its head office is situated at Lahore, Pakistan. Dunya News was founded and is owned by the Pakistani businessman and politician Mian Amer Mahmood. Ibn Abi Al-Dunya
Ibn Abi Al-Dunya (208-281 AH) was a hadith scholar, literary historian, and educator. He was renowned for his books on hadith, history, asceticism, heart-softening narratives, and religious admonitions. He was a prolific author and is considered one of the most productive writers during the era of systematic Islamic compilation. His works demonstrate his extensive knowledge and deep understanding of many sciences and arts. Ibn Kathir mentioned that his works exceeded one hundred compilations, while Al-Dhahabi counted over one hundred and sixty works, which he listed alphabetically. Dunya Mikhail (born 19 March, 1965 in Baghdad, Iraq) is an Iraqi-American poet based in the United States. Life She was born and raised in Iraq to a Chaldean-Catholic family. She graduated with a BA from the University of Baghdad. Mikhail worked as a journalist, as editor of the literary section, and as a translator for '' The Baghdad Observer''.
