Iván Cornejo (born June 5, 2004), is an American singer-songwriter in the regional Mexican genre. Early life and education Cornejo was born in Riverside, California. He endured a breakup in middle school that provided inspiration for songwriting and taught himself how to play the guitar by watching tutorials on YouTube. The first song he learned was Ritchie Valens' version of "La Bamba (song), La Bamba". His earliest music inspirations include T3R Elemento, Grupo Los de la O and Natanael Cano. Career Cornejo's debut album ''Alma Vacía'' peaked at number two on the US Billboard (magazine), '' Billboard'' Regional Mexican Albums chart and number seven on the Top Latin Albums chart.
