The Durnholzer Tal (; ) is a tributary valley of the Sarntal in South Tyrol, Italy. Tributary Valley
Side valleys and tributary valleys are valleys whose brooks or rivers flow into greater ones. Upstream, the valleys can be classified in an increasing order which is equivalent to the usual orographic order: the tributaries are ordered from those nearest to the source of the river to those nearest to the mouth of the river. A confluence is where two or more tributaries or rivers flow together. Orographic order (e.g. Humber) In the orographic classification (order of rivers) the tributary river has order ''n+1'', if ''n'' describes the primary (or main) river. Sarntal
Sarntal (; ) is a valley and a ''comune'' (municipality) in South Tyrol in northern Italy, located about north of the city of Bolzano. The municipality comprises several towns and villages. The largest one, seat of the mayor and council, is ''Sarnthein''. Geography Sarntal borders the following municipalities: Hafling, Freienfeld, Klausen, Franzensfeste, Mölten, Ratschings, Ritten, Jenesien, St. Leonhard in Passeier, Schenna, Vahrn, Vöran and Villanders. The Durnholzer See is located in the municipal territory. The main river is the Talfer, which has its source at the ''Weißhorn'' mountain in the ''Pensertal''.
