Duke Of Ripperdá
Juan Guillermo, Baron de Ripperdá, 1st Duke of Ripperdá (7 March 1684 5 November 1737), was a political adventurer and Spanish Prime Minister. Early life According to a story which he himself set going during his adventures in Spain, his family was of Spanish origin. However, there was no foundation for this assertion, which was likely driven by his desire to strengthen his position in Spain. In fact, he was born as Baron Johan Willem Ripperda, son of Baron Ludolph Luirdt Ripperda tot Winsum, a Dutch military commander, and Maria Isabella van Deest. He was a scion of the Ripperdas, one of the oldest and most influential noble families in Groningen, with origins going back to East Frisia. He was born a Catholic and attended a Jesuit School in Cologne, he conformed to Dutch Calvinism in order to obtain his election as delegate to the states-general from Groningen. The Most Excellent
The Most Excellent ( (male) or (female), literally "Most Excellent Lord/Lady") is an honorific prefix that is traditionally applied to certain people in Spain and certain Spanish-speaking countries. Following Spanish tradition, it is an '' ex officio'' style (the holder has it as long as they remain in office, in the most important positions of state) and is used in written documents and very formal occasions. The prefix is similar (but not equal) to that of " His/Her Excellency", but in the 19th century "The Most Excellent" began to replace the former. Charles VI (; ; 1 October 1685 – 20 October 1740) was Holy Roman Emperor and ruler of the Austrian Habsburg monarchy from 1711 until his death, succeeding his elder brother, Joseph I, Holy Roman Emperor, Joseph I. Ostend Company
The Ostend Company (; ), officially the General Company Established in the Austrian Netherlands for Commerce and Navigation in the Indies () was a chartered trading company in the Austrian Netherlands (modern-day Belgium) in the Holy Roman Empire which was established in 1722 to trade with the East and West Indies. It took its name from the Flemish port city of Ostend. For a few years it provided strong competition for the more established British, Dutch, and French East India Companies, notably in the lucrative tea trade with China. It established two settlements in India. Despite its profitability, the company was eventually ordered to close down in 1731 after the British government exerted diplomatic pressure on Austria, fearing the company's effects on their own traders.
