Du Poète Lake (Mégiscane River)
Du Poète Lake is a freshwater lake that has become the "Du Poète Reservoir", located west of the Gouin Reservoir, in the territory of the city of La Tuque, in the administrative region of Mauricie, in the provinces and territories of Canada, province of Quebec, in Canada. This lake extends entirely in the canton of Poisson. This lake, which is part of the natural course of the Mégiscane River and collects the waters of the Suzie River by artificial deviation. It is famous thanks to the Mégiscane Dam, built to its natural mouth. This dam was erected in 1954 to divert current from Suzie River and from the upper part of the Mégiscane River to an eastbound diversion channel to the Gouin Reservoir, thereby further feeding downstream the hydroelectric power stations on the Saint-Maurice River. The Saint-Maurice River (, ; ) is one of the main tributaries of the St. Lawrence River, after the Ottawa River, Ottawa and the Saguenay River, Saguenay Rivers and drains an area of 42,735 km2. Provancher Creek (French: “Ruisseau Provancher”) is a tributary of the upper part of the Mégiscane River located to the west of Gouin Reservoir, flowing entirely into forest area in the town of La Tuque, in the administrative region of Mauricie, in Quebec, in Canada. The Lake Marmette is a freshwater body located in the Center-North part of Gouin Reservoir, in the territory of the town of La Tuque (in the South-East of village of Obedjiwan, Quebec, Obedjiwan), in the administrative region of Mauricie, in provinces and territories of Canada, province of Quebec, in Canada. Brécourt Lake
Brécourt () was a Nazi Germany V-1 launching pad in Équeurdreville-Hainneville near Cherbourg, in Manche of Normandy, northern France. It was by far the largest V-1 launch complex ever built by the Luftwaffe, and the only one to feature two launching pads from the outset: one protected, the other underground. It was also the only large site to have been successively assigned to two different V-weapons: from July to December 1943 to the V-2 rocket, and from January 1944 to the V-1 flying bomb. Originally built by the French Navy as underground fuel oil storage tunnels, the Brécourt facility was repurposed during World War II by the German Army to store V-2 rockets. At the end of 1943, the Luftwaffe took over the site and used it as a launch pad for V-1 flying bombs to attack the Bristol harbour.
