Druzhba, Donetsk Oblast
Druzhba ( uk, Дружба) is a rural settlement in Toretsk urban hromada, Bakhmut Raion, Donetsk Oblast, eastern Ukraine. History Russo-Ukrainian War Russian invasion of Ukraine On 21 July 2023, during the Russian invasion of Ukraine, Russian shelling killed two children and injured a woman in the settlement. As part of a renewed effort to capture Donetsk Oblast, the Russian Armed Forces gained a foothold within Druzhba as well as other satellite settlements of Toretsk and the Niu-York urban area, as geolocated footage by DeepState confirmed. The Russian Ministry of Defense claimed that its forces captured the settlement (called Kirovo by the Russians) on 31 August 2024. Populated place in Ukraine ( uk, Населений пункт) is a structural element of human settling system, a stationary settlement, territorially integral compact area of population concentration basic and important feature of which is permanent human habitation. Populated places in Ukraine are systematized into two major categories: urban and rural. DeepStateMap.Live is an open-source intelligence interactive online map of the military operations of the Russian and Ukrainian armies during the Russian invasion of Ukraine. The map was created on 24 February 2022, the day of the invasion, by the non-governmental and volunteer-led organization ''Deep State UA''. It is updated regularly to reflect the current situation on the frontline, in military formations, and other major events of the war such as the sinking of the ''Moskva''. Decentralisation in Ukraine is a series of reforms to give additional power and resources to local authorities. This process was intended to advance regional development and border reform.
