Drag is a performance of exaggerated femininity, masculinity, or other forms of gender expression, usually for entertainment purposes. Drag usually involves cross-dressing. A drag queen is someone (usually male) who performs femininely and a drag king is someone (usually female) who performs masculinely. Performances often involve comedy, social satire, and at times political commentary. A fan convention (also known as a con or fan meeting) is an event in which Fan (person), fans of a particular topic gather to participate and hold programs and other events, and to meet experts, famous personalities, and each other. Some also incorporate commercial activity. The term dates back to at least 1942. Overview Fan conventions are traditionally organized by fans on a not-for-profit basis, though some events catering ''to'' fans are run by commercial interests for profit. RuPaul's DragCon UK
RuPaul's DragCon UK is a multi-genre entertainment convention held annually at the ExCeL London, Exhibition Centre London located in London, England. The two-day event primarily features prominent drag performers for executives, fanatics, and online brands. This marks the third edition of RuPaul's DragCon, co-produced by American drag queen RuPaul and World of Wonder (company), World of Wonder founders Fenton Bailey, and Randy Barbato. The first event took place on 18 January 2020 at the Olympia London, Olympia Exhibition Centre, which was met with negative criticism for opening day.
