Doug Brandon
Benton Douglas Brandon Jr. (August 23, 1932 – July 13, 1992) was an American lawyer and politician. He served in both the Arkansas House of Representatives and Arkansas Senate. The encyclopedia is a project of the Butler Center for Arkansas Studies at the Little Rock-based CALS.Lindsey MillarFrom civil rights to slime molds, the Encyclopedia of Arkansas has all of Arkansas covered with more than 3,600 entries '' Arkansas Times'' (July 30, 2014). Arkansas's 2nd congressional district is a congressional district located in the central part of the U.S. state of Arkansas and includes most of the state capital of Little Rock, Arkansas, Little Rock, its suburbs, and surrounding areas. The district leans Republican Party (United States), Republican, with a Cook Partisan Voting Index rating of R+8. However, due to the influence of heavily Democratic Party (United States), Democratic Little Rock, it is still considered the least Republican congressional district in Arkansas, which has an all-Republican congressional delegation. The 1978 United States House of Representatives elections was an election for the United States House of Representatives on November 7, 1978, to elect members to serve in the 96th United States Congress. They occurred in the middle of Democratic President Jimmy Carter's term, amidst an energy crisis and rapid inflation. The Democratic Party lost a net of 15 seats to the Republican Party, and thus lost their two-thirds supermajority, but still maintained a large 277-seat majority. Victor Frederick Snyder (born September 27, 1947) is an American physician, lawyer, and politician who was the U.S. representative for from 1997 to 2011. He is a member of the Democratic Party. He served in the United States Marine Corps during the Vietnam War at the rank of corporal. Early life, education and career Vic Snyder was born in Medford, Oregon. He is a graduate of Medford High School (1965) and attended college at Willamette University in Salem, Oregon, where he was a member of Kappa Sigma. In 1967, after two years of college, Snyder volunteered for the United States Marine Corps. He served in South Vietnam with Headquarters Company of the US 1st Marine Division during the Vietnam War. He served for two years and attained the rank of corporal.
