Donuzlav Bay
Lake Donuzlav (Russian and Ukrainian: Донузлав, ), also referred to as Donuzlav Bay, is the deepest lakeOliferov, A.M. Donuzlav (ДОНУЗЛА́В)'. Encyclopedia of Modern Ukraine. of Crimea () and biggest in Chornomorske Raion (). It is a protected landscape and recreational park of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea. The lake is as salty as the sea near its mouth but bottom springs make the water much less saline near the head. Novoozerne (; ; ) is an urban-type settlement in the Yevpatoria municipality of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea, a territory recognized by a majority of countries as part of Ukraine and since 2014 occupied and incorporated by Russia as the Republic of Crimea. Donguzlav Air Base
Donuzlav is an air base near Donuzlav, Lake Donuzlav in Crimea, Ukraine. The air base was decommissioned in 1995, but has been claimed to have been revived by the Russian military since the Russo-Ukrainian war. History In 1941, after the outbreak of the Eastern Front (World War II), Soviet-German War, the Soviet military began to use Donuzlav air base and complement the seaplanes that were already operating on Donuzlav, Lake Donuzlav. Throughout the war, the 119th Marine Reconnaissance Regiment was mainly responsible for operating the air base. In 1958, the 307th Separate aviation squadron operated Ka-15 helicopters on the air base, which later became the 872nd Separate Aviation Helicopter Regiment. The Tarantul-class corvette, Soviet designation Project 1241 ''Molniya'' () are a class of Russian missile corvettes (large missile cutters in Soviet classification). Russian Corvette Ivanovets
''Ivanovets'', formerly ''R-334'', was a of the Black Sea Fleet of the Russian Navy. She was laid down on 4 January 1988 at Sredne-Nevsky Shipyard and launched a year later on 28 July 1989. The corvette was accepted into the Black Sea fleet on 30 December 1989. In August 2013, ''Ivanovets'' underwent major repairs in drydock. The corvette was intended to join the Russian Navy in the Mediterranean Sea but was chosen to participate in security measures in preparation for the 2014 Winter Olympics at Sochi. The Black Sea Fleet () is the Naval fleet, fleet of the Russian Navy in the Black Sea, the Sea of Azov and the Mediterranean Sea. The Black Sea Fleet, along with other Russian ground and air forces on the Crimea, Crimean Peninsula, are subordinate to the Southern Military District of the Russian Armed Forces. Southern Naval Base
Southern Naval Base (, Russian: Южная военно-морская база) was a naval base of the Armed Forces of Ukraine located in the town of Novoozerne (part of Yevpatoria city municipality) on Donuzlav Bay in the western part of Crimea. The base was reorganized in place of the of the Soviet Union which completely occupied the southern shores of Donuzlav Bay and included hovercraft berths, Donuzlav Air Station, and a submarine base.
