Donald Copeland
Donald Copeland (born February 11, 1984) is a former Americans, American basketball player and current coach (basketball), coach. He is the current head coach of the Wagner Seahawks men's basketball team. Playing career Copeland played basketball under Bob Hurley at St. Anthony High School (New Jersey), St. Anthony High School where he helped lead the team to two state titles, while also earning all-state honors in New Jersey. He'd play collegiately at Seton Hall Pirates men's basketball, Seton Hall under Louis Orr, and was named a Second Team All-Big East Conference (1979–2013), Big East selection in his senior season. He was voted Seton Hall’s Senior Male Athlete of the Year. After graduation, Copeland would play professionally for nine seasons across Europe and in Puerto Rico. Northeast Conference
The Northeast Conference (NEC) is a collegiate athletic conference whose schools are members of the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA). Leones De Ponce (basketball)
Leones de Ponce is a professional basketball team in Ponce, Puerto Rico. They are a member of the Baloncesto Superior Nacional league (BSN). The team was established in 1946 and has become one of the most successful clubs in league history, winning a record fourteen championships (a number also matched by the Atléticos de San Germán and just one championship behind the Vaqueros de Bayamón), the most recent being the 2015 championship acquired after defeating the Capitanes de Arecibo in the finals. Kevin Willard
Kevin Schreiber Willard (born April 6, 1975) is an American college basketball coach and the current head men's basketball coach at the University of Maryland. Willard played basketball at Western Kentucky during the 1992–93 season (his freshman year) before transferring to Pittsburgh to finish his playing career. Willard started his coaching career in the NBA ranks, working on the bench with coach Rick Pitino of the Boston Celtics. After Pitino resigned from the Celtics in 2001, Willard followed him to Louisville, and spent the next six years there as his assistant. He is the former head coach of Iona College, where he took over the reins after Jeff Ruland was fired after going 2–28 in 2007. Bashir Mason
Bashir Mason (born February 11, 1984) is an American college basketball coach and current head men's basketball coach at Saint Peter's University. He was previously an assistant coach at Marist College in 2008, and an assistant coach at Wagner College in 2010. Mason played high school basketball St. Benedict's Preparatory School, then joined then head coach Bruiser Flint to play college basketball at Drexel University. He was a four-year starter for the Dragons, scoring over 1,000 points and handing out 471 assists as a point guard. He was a CAA all-defensive player every season, as well as the CAA's defensive player of the year as a freshman. Mason was hired by Wagner, in March 2012, as their 18th men's head basketball coach. Big East Conference (1979–2013)
The Big East Conference was a collegiate athletics conference that consisted of as many as 16 universities in the eastern half of the United States from 1979 to 2013. The conference's members participated in 24 NCAA sports. The conference had a history of success at the national level in basketball throughout its history, while its shorter (1991 to 2013) football program, created by inviting one college and four other "associate members" (their football programs only) into the conference, resulted in two national championships. Louis Orr
Louis McLaughlin Orr (May 7, 1958 – December 15, 2022) was an American basketball player and coach. He played professionally in the National Basketball Association (NBA) and became a college basketball coach. Orr was the head coach at Bowling Green State University from 2007–2014 and at Seton Hall from 2001 until 2006. He was formerly an assistant at Xavier University, Providence College and his alma mater Syracuse University, before getting his first head coaching job at Siena College. He was also an assistant coach at Georgetown under his former New York Knicks teammate Patrick Ewing. Playing career Orr attended Withrow High School where he was coached by Charles Cadle. Robert Emmet Hurley (born July 31, 1947) is an American basketball coach. At the now-closed St. Anthony High School in Jersey City, New Jersey, Hurley amassed 26 state championships in 39 years as a coach. On February 2, 2011, Hurley became the tenth coach in high school history to win 1,000 games. Five of his teams have gone undefeated. 2024 Northeast Conference Men's Basketball Tournament
The 2024 Northeast Conference Men's Basketball Tournament was the postseason men's basketball tournament for the Northeast Conference for the 2023–24 NCAA Division I men's basketball season. The tournament took place on three dates between March 6 and 12, 2024, and all tournament games were played in the home arenas of the higher-seeded school.
