Doge (usually , or ) is an Internet meme that became popular in 2013. The meme consists of a picture of a Shiba Inu dog, accompanied by multicolored text in Comic Sans font in the foreground. The text, representing a kind of internal monologue, is deliberately written in a form of broken English. The meme originally and most frequently uses an image of a Shiba Inu named Kabosu, though versions with other Shiba Inus are also popular. was a Shiba Inu dog from Japan. Adopted in 2008 by kindergarten teacher , she is prominently featured in the original Doge meme and the Dogecoin cryptocurrency. Life Kabosu was a pedigree dog who was sent to an animal shelter when her puppy mill shut down. She was adopted in 2008 by Japanese kindergarten teacher Atsuko Sato, and named after the citrus fruit kabosu by a volunteer at the shelter. Sato kept the name, because she thought the dog had a round face like the fruit. DOGE-1 is a CubeSat mission planned by Geometric Energy Corporation. The mission is being paid for entirely with the cryptocurrency Dogecoin, which is known for its popular "Doge" meme. Döge is a village in Szabolcs-Szatmár-Bereg county, in the Northern Great Plain region of eastern Hungary. Geography Döge is located in the northwestern part of the county, in the Rétköz region, on the left bank of the Tisza river. It covers an area of and has a population of 2,206 people (2013 estimate).
