Dodë Gjergji
Dodë Gjergji (born 16 January 1963) is a Kosovo, Kosovan prelate of the Catholic Church. Since 2006, he serves as Apostolic Administrator of Apostolic Administration of Prizren, Prizren. In 2018, when the apostolic administration was elevated to the status of the diocese, he became the first diocesan bishop. Dodë Gjergji was born in Stublla near Viti, Kosovo, Viti, SFR Yugoslavia. From 2000 to 2005 he was the Apostolic Administrator of Roman Catholic Diocese of Sapë, Sapë in Albania. He was appointed the bishop of Sapë on 23 November 2005 and consecrated on 5 January 2006. On 12 December 2006 he was appointed the apostolic administrator of Apostolic Administration of Prizren, Prizren. On 5 September 2018, Pope Francis elevated the apostolic administration as a new diocese and appointed Dodë Gjergji as its first diocesan bishop. Roman Catholic Diocese Of Prizren
The Diocese of Prizren and Pristina (, , ) is a Latin Church ecclesiastical territory or diocese of the Catholic Church in Kosovo. It is centered in the city of Prizren. It was erected as an apostolic administration in 2000, after being split from the Roman Catholic Diocese of Skopje and Prizren, Diocese of Skopje and Prizren, and elevated to the rank of diocese in 2018. The first apostolic administrator of Prizren was titular bishop Marko Sopi of Celerina (see), Celerina, who served from 2000 to 2006. Caritas Kosovo () is a Kosovar Catholic not-for-profit organisation. It is a member of both Caritas Europa and Caritas Internationalis. Background Caritas Kosova was founded in 1992 as a Catholic initiative to support the local population experiencing rampant poverty, primarily through the distribution of humanitarian aid. At the time, it was not officially registered as an NGO. After the Kosovo War (1998–1999), various agencies from the global Caritas confederation became active in the country.
