Diyora Keldiyorova
Diyora Keldiyorova (; born 13 July 1998 in Juma, Samarkand Region) is an Olympic champion Uzbek judoka. She won the gold medal in the women's 52kg event at the 2024 Summer Olympics held in Paris, France. She is also a two-time silver medalist in the women's 52kg event at the World Judo Championships (2023 and 2024). In 2019, she won the gold medal in her event at the Asian-Pacific Judo Championships held in Fujairah, United Arab Emirates. She is the first Uzbek woman to win a Grand Slam tournament in judo. She is the first athlete in the history of Uzbekistan to win gold in judo at the Olympic Games and also the first Uzbek woman athlete to win a gold medal at the Summer Olympics. Career Keldiyorova won one of the bronze medals in the girls' 44kg event at the 2013 Asian Youth Games held in Nanjing, China. The 2022 Judo Grand Slam Ulaanbaatar was held at AIC Steppe Arena in Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia, from 24 to 26 June 2022 as part of the IJF World Tour and during the 2024 Summer Olympics qualification period. After the 2022 Russian invasion of Ukraine, all of the other 31 Summer Olympic sports organizations other than the IJF have suspended Russian and Belarusian athletes from their competitions. But IJF President Marius Vizer, a long-time close friend of Russian President Vladimir Putin, wanted instead to let Russians and Belarusians continue to compete as neutral athletes. Ukraine boycotted the event because the Russian team was allowed to compete; Russia entered 24 competitors in the competition. The Judo Grand Slam tournaments are international judo tournaments held by the International Judo Federation as part of the IJF World Tour. After the Olympic Games, World Championships and World Masters, the Grand Slam tournaments are the highest-ranking worldwide judo tournaments, i.e. the tournaments in which the judoka can acquire the most ranking points. While some sources states that the first Grand Slam tournament was held in Tokyo in December 2008, the IJF titled it as "Kano Cup", not "Grand Slam". The Judo World Masters is an annual invite-only judo competition. After being open for only the top 16 ranked judoka in each weight class for its first eight installments, the tournament was expended to host the top 36 of each weight class in 2019. The world masters is the only world tour event with no limitation on the number of judoka competing from any single national association.
