Divača–Koper Railway
The Divača–Koper Railway () is a Slovenian 50-kilometre long railway line that connects Ljubljana and Divača with the coastal town of Koper. Črnotiče
Črnotiče (; ) is a settlement near Črni Kal in the City Municipality of Koper in the Littoral region of Slovenia. It includes the hamlets of Na Placu () near St. Paul's Church, Na Vršiču () in the center of the settlement, and lower-lying Na Križcah (). History Archaeological finds have been discovered south of the settlement, near the church dedicated to Our Lady of the Snows. A defense wall against Ottoman attacks is also located at the site. Mass graves Črnotiče is the site of two known mass graves associated with the Second World War. The Špirnica Mass Grave () is located northeast of the settlement, about south of Petrinje. It contained the remains of at least 10 victims. Some of the remains were exhumed in 1992 and reburied in the Koper cemetery in 2004. The Č12 Cave Mass Grave () is located in a shaft northwest of the settlement, in the Grucelj karst area near the Gradis quarry. It contains the remains of undetermined victims based on reports from spelunkers. ...

2018 Slovenian Railway Referendum
A referendum on a law governing the Divača-Koper rail upgrade was held in Slovenia on 13 May 2018. It followed the annulment of the results of a 2017 referendum on the same subject by the Supreme Court in March 2018. The result saw just 309 more votes cast against the law (50.06%) than in favour (49.94%). Voter turnout was even lower than in 2017, at around 15%, meaning that the requirement of 20% of the electorate casting a "no" vote to validate the referendum outcome was not met. The referendum was marked by a low turnout; a majority of voters voted in favour of the proposed law. The results were annulled by the Supreme Court in March 2018, resulting in a new referendum being held in 13 May 2018. Background On 8 May 2017, the National Assembly of Slovenia passed a law that deals with the construction of the second railway track from Koper to Divača, in particular regarding the financial plans for the project. The second railway track should help the development of Port of Koper, a major port in the Northern Adriatic Sea, as the existing track was in bad condition and already nearing the traffic limits. Location The station forms part of the important rail link originally built as the South railway, between Vienna, Austria, and Trieste, Italy.
