District Heights–Seat Pleasant Line
The District Heights–Seat Pleasant Line, designated Route V14, was a daily bus route operated by the Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority between the Deanwood station of the Orange and Silver Lines of the Washington Metro and Penn Mar Shopping Center in District Heights. The line operated every 20–30 minutes during the rush hour, 60 minutes during weekday middays, and 60 minutes on the weekends. V14 trips were roughly 40–45 minutes long. Background Route V14 operated daily between Deanwood station and Penn Mar Shopping Center. Select trips were also operated between Penn Mar Shopping Center and Addison Road station only. SmarTrip
SmarTrip is a contactless stored-value smart card payment system managed by the Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority (WMATA). The Maryland Transit Administration (MTA) uses a compatible payment system called CharmCard. A reciprocity agreement between the MTA and WMATA allows either card to be used for travel on any of the participating transit systems in the Baltimore-Washington metropolitan area. Unlike traditional paper farecards or bus passes, SmarTrip/CharmCard is designed to be permanent and reloadable; the term "SmarTrip" may refer to both payment systems unless otherwise noted. The Forestville Line, designated as Route K12, was a daily bus route operated by the Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority between Suitland station and Branch Avenue station of the Green Line of the Washington Metro. The line operated every 15 – 45 minutes during weekdays and 60 minutes during weekends. Trips were roughly 30 – 40 minutes long. There were a few early morning/late night and rush hour trips that only operate between the Suitland Metro Station & Penn Mar Shopping Center. Addison Road station is a rapid transit station on the Washington Metro's Silver and Blue Lines. It is operated by the Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority, who opened it in 1980.
