District 3 (Zürich)
Wiedikon is a district in the Swiss city of Zurich. It corresponds to District number 3 and comprises the neighborhoods of Alt-Wiedikon, Sihlfeld and Friesenberg. Wiedikon was formerly a municipality of its own, having been incorporated into Zurich in 1893. Transportation The municipality is located on the A3 motorway. Subdivisions Of Zürich
The municipality of Zurich is divided into twelve districts (known as Kreis in German), numbered 1 to 12, each one of which may contain anywhere between 1 and 4 neighborhoods. There are a total of 34 neighborhoods. Zürich is also divided into 25 postal areas, roughly corresponding to small districts and neighborhoods of larger districts. Zürich Wiedikon Railway Station
Zürich Wiedikon railway station () is a railway station on the Zürich S-Bahn system in Wiedikon in the western part of the Swiss city of Zürich. It is the only railway station in Switzerland where the ticket office building is located on a bridge above the tracks – in German, this is known as Reiterbahnhof. The station is served by S-Bahn trains on the Lake Zürich left bank line approaching the city from the south and south-east directions. A3 Motorway (Switzerland)
The A3 is a motorway in northeast Switzerland, running diagonally from France toward the southeast border, and passing by Zürich on the way. The total length of the A3 motorway spans roughly , but parts of the road share sections of the A1 motorway (Switzerland), A1 and A2 motorway (Switzerland), A2 motorways. Murerplan - Wiedikon
The Murerplan is a historic map of Zürich, printed in 1576 by Jos Murer (1530-1580). It was combined from six pearwood plates measuring 45 cm squared each. A smaller extra plate was made for the Grossmünster, which would otherwise have been divided between four plates. The original plates have not been preserved. The plates of a second edition of 1610 survive.
