In Christianity, a disciple is a dedicated follower of Jesus in Christianity, Jesus. This term is found in the New Testament only in the Canonical Gospels, Gospels and Acts of the Apostles, Acts. Originating in the ancient Near East, the concept of a disciple is an adherent of a teacher. Discipleship is not the same as being a student in the modern sense; a disciple in the ancient biblical world actively imitation, imitated both the life and teaching of the master. ''The Disciple'' () is a novel by Paul Bourget (1852–1935), published in 1889. It was written between September 1888 and May 1889 and serves as an analysis and educational tool for the new generations. Bourget's work is also a Roman à thèse, thesis novel, as the author criticizes the role of intellectuals and accuses modern science of replacing religion without offering a moral compass. Disciples (stylised as DISCIPLΞS) are a British production trio made up of Nathan Vincent Duvall, Gavin Koolmon, and Luke McDermott based in South London. Career 2013–14: Early career Disciples released their debut EP ''Remedy'' in 2013 on New State Music. It was picked up by DJ Target who introduced it to the mainstream on his ''100% HomeGrown'' show on BBC Radio 1Xtra, a BBC radio channel. The Disciples (band)
The Disciples are a Dub music, dub roots reggae group that was formed in 1986 by brothers Russ D. and Lol Bell-Brown, named by Jah Shaka after providing Discomix Dubplates for his sound system. They recorded four albums of instrumental dub for Jah Shaka's ''King Of The Zulu Tribe'' label during 1987 to 1990. Russ D. acquired some basic recording equipment in 1985 which started their productions. Over the years this has seen many changes moving from a bedroom with four- and eight track recording to a small purpose built studio which now comprises full 24 track recording and mixing facilities. The Disciples built their own Sound system (Jamaican), sound system in 1991 and played events across the UK for the following five years. They played alongside Aba Shanti-I, Iration Steppas and Channel One Sound System. Musical content was strictly roots reggae and dub music from all eras. Disciple is the fifth album released by Christian rock group Disciple, on June 7, 2005. When the single "The Wait is Over" was released, it broke several records in Christian music, including the longest spot at No. 1 on the R&R Charts. A special edition was released on June 6, 2006 as a DualDisc containing four bonus songs and a making-of DVD. Disciple is an American Christian metal band from Knoxville, Tennessee, formed in 1992. The group has released 13 studio albums, 3 extended plays, 1 live extended play, and 1 compilation album. History Early releases (1992–1998) Disciple was formed in December 1992 by Knoxville high school friends Kevin Young, Brad Noah, Adrian DiTommasi and Tim Barrett. The band played its first show in May 1993 at Topside Church of God in Louisville, Tennessee, and recorded its first three-song demo at Nightsong Studios with producer Jesse Jones. Adrian DiTommasi left the band shortly after that for personal reasons, and Kevin Young would eventually take over the bass guitar duties.
