Diobu, Port Harcourt
Diobu is a densely populated neighborhood of Port Harcourt, Rivers State, located within the Port Harcourt metropolis. Neighborhood Diobu is significant as the childhood residence of the former Rivers State governor Chibuike Amaechi. Other notable individuals who had been raised in Diobu are singer Duncan Mighty, the Mayor of Port Harcourt Hon. Victor Ihunwo and former Reps' deputy speaker Austin Opara. The neighborhood is also known for its huge concentration of soccer talents and has produced a number of locally and internationally known players including Finidi George, Joseph Yobo and Taribo West. On March 29, 2012, Diobu hosted the 25th Most Beautiful Girl in Nigeria zonal screening for Port Harcourt. Although the neighborhood ranks among most commercially vibrant places in the city, about a third of its residents live below the poverty level. Austin Opara
Austin Adiele Opara , (born 29 August 1963) is a Nigerian politician of the People's Democratic Party. He was raised in Diobu, Port Harcourt and is of the Ikwerre tribe. Education Opara has a Higher National Diploma and a Bachelor of Science in Marketing option from the Rivers State University of Science and Technology. He obtained his Master of Business Administration, from the same institution. In addition, he is certified in Public Financial Management and Mastering Negotiations from John F. National Network (newspaper)
The ''National Network'' is an English language Nigerian weekly newspaper founded 25 November 2004. It is published by Network Printing and Publishing Company and has its headquarters in the Diobu area of Port Harcourt, Rivers State. Topics the newspaper covers include local and national main news, sports, business, political events and personalities. In January 2005, Jerry Needam, owner of the paper was arrested at his office for allegedly fabricating a news report aimed at tarnishing Rivers State Police commissioner Sylvester Araba's image and reputation. Wikimapia
Wikimapia is a geographic online encyclopedia project. The project implements an interactive "clickable" web map that utilizes Google Maps with a geographically-referenced wiki system, with the aim to mark and describe all geographical objects in the world. Wikimapia was created by Alexandre Koriakine and Evgeniy Saveliev in May 2006. The Old Government Reserved Area (Old GRA) is a neighborhood of the city of Port Harcourt, Rivers State in Nigeria.
