History It is one of the oldest loco sheds, started by the british as a B.G Steam Loco Shed, later converted to B.G Diesel Loco Shed in 1963. Gooty
Gooty ( ) is a town in Anantapur district of the Indian state of Andhra Pradesh. It is the headquarters of Gooty mandal in Anantapur revenue division. The town is renowned for the Gooty hill fort. Geography Gooty is located at , at a distance of 52 km from Anantapur. It has an average elevation of 345 metres (1131 feet). Earlier, Gooty was under the Vijayanagara Empire, later they abandoned Gooty Fort, Maratas took over fort they ruled through sandoor Gorpades till British left India. South Coast Railway Zone
South Coast Railway Zone (SCoR) has been announced as the newest railway zone of the Indian Railways and is headquartered at Visakhapatnam, Andhra Pradesh. The formal notification for operationalization of this Zone is yet to be issued. Jurisdiction South Coast Railway will be headquartered at Visakhapatnam and have three divisions. The existing Waltair division will be bifurcated into two parts. The South Central Railway (abbreviated SCR) is one of the 19 zones of Indian Railways. The jurisdiction of the zone is spread over the states of Telangana, Maharashtra, Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh.
