Diego Elías
Diego Elías Chehab (born November 19, 1996, in Lima) is a squash player who represents Peru. He is the 2023–24 World Champion. In April 2023, he reached a ranking of number 1 in the world, the first South American player in squash history to do so. Career His accomplishments include winning World Junior Championships twice, British Junior Open twice, and the US Junior Open in Boys' U15, U17, and U19. On July 27, 2019, he won a gold medal at the 2019 Pan American Games in Lima, Peru. In October 2021, Elías won the Qatar QTerminals Classic, his first PSA World Tour Platinum title. Elias emerged victorious at the Necker Mauritius Open, a PSA Gold tournament, in June 2022. In 2023, Elías reached his first British Open final, losing out to Ali Farag in the 2023 Men's British Open Squash Championship. World Junior Squash Championships
The World Junior Squash championships are the official junior tournament in the game of squash conducted by the World Squash Federation (WSF). Entry is open to individuals aged 19 and below. Since its inception, the world juniors has been held biennially with the junior men (individual and team) held one year, junior women (individual and team) the following year. The men's team event was held unofficially from 1973 to 1979. The individuals event (for both men's and women's) are held annually starting from 2009 while the team event remains biennial. Squash At The 2022 Bolivarian Games
Squash competitions at the 2022 Bolivarian Games in Valledupar, Colombia were held from 25 to 29 June 2022 at Unidad Deportiva El Salitre in Bogotá, a sub-venue outside Valledupar. Seven medal events were scheduled to be contested; singles, doubles and team events for men and women plus a mixed doubles event. A total of 45 athletes (23 men and 22 women) competed in the events. The events were open competitions without age restrictions. 2017 Bolivarian Games
The 2017 Bolivarian Games, officially the XVIII Bolivarian Games, was an international multi-sport event that was held from 11–25 November 2017, in Santa Marta, Colombia. Host city selection Ciudad Bolivar (Venezuela) and Santa Marta (Colombia) were the cities which decided to bid for hosting the Games.
