Dhimitër Xhuvani
Dhimitër Xhuvani (23 May 1934 – 19 September 2009) was an Albanian writer and screenwriter. Xhuvani was born in 1934 in Pogradec. His father, Kostaq Xhuvani, was a respected teacher from Elbasan. In 1944, during World War II, his family fled from Pogradec and took refuge in Mokër, where they stayed until their country was liberated, after which they moved to Elbasan. After finishing medical high-school he worked in the rural hospitals of Librazhd, Peqin, Gramsh, and Cërrik. After leaving medicine he continued his studies in the ''Faculty of History and Philology'' in Tirana and later in Moscow. Pogradec
Pogradec (,) is the List of cities and towns in Albania, eleventh most populous city in Albania and the capital of the eponymous municipality. It is located on a List of settlements on the Lake Ohrid coastline, narrow plain between two mountain chains along the southwestern banks of the Lake of Ohrid. Its climate is profoundly influenced by a seasonal Mediterranean climate, Mediterranean and continental climate. The total municipal population is 46,070, of which 17,371 is in the municipal unit as of the 2023 census. Pogradec and its surroundings were listed by UNESCO as a World Heritage Site as part of the Natural and Cultural Heritage of the Ohrid Region (Albania), natural and cultural heritage of the Albanian Ohrid Lake Coast, region of Ohrid. Cërrik
Cërrik (; sq-definite, Cërriku ) is a municipality in Elbasan County, central Albania. The municipality consists of the administrative units of Gostimë, Klos, Mollas, Shalës with Cërrik constituting its seat. As of the 2023 census, the population of the municipal unit is 7,001 and 25,163 in Cërrik Municipality. Geography Cërrik is located between the Shkumbin River and Devoll River in central Albania. Economy Cërrik developed around an oil refinery, which began construction in 1952 and started operation on 8 November 1956. The refinery was established by Simon Ranxha, Leonard Mitrushi, Bahri Hazizi, Hysen Voci, Dhimiter Toska, Jorgji Calja, Filip Gega, Lavdosh Hametaj, Vasip Gura, Shefqet Lole, Alush Rexho, and Ibrahim Gjevori. Gramsh, Elbasan
Gramsh ( sq-definite, Gramshi) is a town and a municipality in Elbasan County, central Albania. The municipality was formed at the 2015 local government reform by the merger of the former municipalities Gramsh, Kodovjat, Kukur, Kushovë, Lenie, Pishaj, Poroçan, Skënderbegas, Sult and Tunjë, that became municipal units. The seat of the municipality is the town Gramsh. The total population is 16,533 as of the 2011 census, in a total area of 739.75 km2.
