The Accursed Mountains (; sh-Latn-Cyrl, Prokletije, Проклетије, separator=" / ", ; both translated as "Cursed Mountains"), also known as the Albanian Alps (; sh-Latn-Cyrl, Albanski Alpi, Албански Алпи, separator=" / ", link=no), is a mountain range in coastal Southeast Europe adjacent to the Adriatic Sea. Deçan
Deçan (, ; , ) is a town and municipality in the district of Gjakova, Kosovo. The municipality has an area of and it includes the town and 37 smaller settlements. According to the last census of 2024, the municipality has a population of 27,758. History Antiquity Historical records and archaeological evidence indicate that Deçan has been inhabited since ancient times, with organized life established by the Illyrian tribes, particularly the Dardani, who lived in the area. Remnants of this history can be seen in Deçan, where over seven Catholic churches, Illyrian burial mounds, decorative items, stelae, and other artifacts, remain as traces of its past. Middle Ages Deçan was first recorded in 1330 in the decrees known as the Dečani chrysobulls as being a village with a population of 89 households, consisting of 623 people. Gjeravica
Gjeravica (Albanian indefinite form: ''Gjeravicë''; sr-Cyrl-Latn, Ђеравица, Đeravica, separator=" / ") is a mountain peak in Kosovo. It also is the second-highest mountain peak in the Accursed Mountains range and the Dinaric Alps range, after Jezercë. It has an elevation of above sea level. Gjeravica is in the western part of Kosovo, in the municipality of Junik. Features Gjeravica is somewhat different from the rest of the Accursed mountains in its lack of the stony, limestone texture the other mountains in Accursed Mountains have. Many large and small glacial lakes can be found near the summit. The largest of the lakes is Gjeravica Lake, which is just under the summit and is the origin of the Erenik river. Radoniq Lake
Radoniq Lake (; /''Radonjićko jezero'') is a lake in Kosovo. After Gazivoda Lake, it is the second largest in the country at 5.62 km2. Back in the 80‘s, there used to be a town under this lake. However during the process of making this artificial lake, the town had to be sunk under it. The residents had, of course, moved from the town once this happened. During different times of the year, once the tide is low, the very top of a church can be seen, as it remains still intact. It is a widely known fact to the people around the lake.
