Devon Park is an inner northern suburb of Adelaide, South Australia. It is located in the cities of Port Adelaide Enfield and Charles Sturt beside the Gawler railway line near, but not meeting, the intersection of Torrens Road and Churchill Road. History Devon Park was laid out in 1920 on parts of sections 375 and 376 of the Hundred of Yatala by Lavinia and George Braund and was named for their Devonshire, England, the county in which they were born. Demographics The 2006 Census by the Australian Bureau of Statistics counted 752 persons in Devon Park on census night. Of these, 48.9% were male and 51.1% were female. Katherine Margaret Ellis (born 22 September 1977) is an Australian former politician, who represented the Division of Adelaide in the Australian House of Representatives for the Australian Labor Party from 2004 until 2019. She served in multiple portfolios in the outer ministry of the 2007–2013 federal Labor government and was in the shadow cabinet after that. Michael John Atkinson (born 17 June 1958), a former Australian politician in the South Australian Branch of the Australian Labor Party, was a member of the Parliament of South Australia from 1989 to 2018. Atkinson was the 34th Speaker of the South Australian House of Assembly in the Jay Weatherill government from 2013 to 2018.
