Devilance
Devilance the Pursuer is a fictional extraterrestrial hunter in the DC Comics universe. Publication history Devilance first appeared in ''Forever People'' #11 (August 1972) and was created by Jack Kirby. Fictional character biography Devilance is a New God from Apokolips and a hunter who serves its leader, Darkseid. During an attempt to kill the Forever People, Devilance battles Infinity-Man and is presumed dead. Devilance resurfaces in the series '' 52'', where he captures Starfire, Adam Strange, and Animal Man on another planet. They later escape, and Devilance is killed by Lobo. In 2016, DC Comics implemented a relaunch called "DC Rebirth", which restored its continuity to a form much as it was prior to ''The New 52''. Adam Strange
Adam Strange is a superhero appearing in American comic books published by DC Comics. Created by editor Julius Schwartz and designed by Murphy Anderson, he first appeared in '' Showcase'' #17 (November 1958). Adam Strange made his live-action debut in the television series ''Krypton'', portrayed by Shaun Sipos. Additionally, Michael T. Weiss, Michael Trucco, and Brian Bloom have voiced him in animation. Creation In 1957, DC Comics editorial director Irwin Donenfeld held a meeting with editors Jack Schiff and Julius Schwartz in his office, asking them each to create a new science fiction hero, one from the present and one from the future. Given first pick Schiff chose to create one from the future, Space Ranger. Schwartz was happy with the pick feeling that readers would more readily identify with a hero from the present. Forever People
Forever People are a group of extraterrestrial superheroes appearing in American comic books published by DC Comics. They first appeared in ''Forever People'' #1 ( cover-dated February-March 1971), and were created by Jack Kirby as part of his " Fourth World" epic. Publication history The protagonists of the series are a group of young New Gods from New Genesis who were on a mission to oppose Darkseid on Earth, and talked, dressed, and acted much like the flower children of the 1960s. In addition to the individual abilities and equipment of the members, the group can join together using the technology of a Mother Box to summon the powerful hero Infinity-Man. The group travels by use of their Super-Cycle. The first issue of their title also introduced the Boom Tube, a type of portal used by the New Gods. The New Gods are a fictional extraterrestrial race appearing in the eponymous comic book series published by DC Comics, as well as selected other DC titles. Created and designed by Jack Kirby, they first appeared in February 1971 in ''New Gods'' #1. Publication history Volume 1 (1971) The New Gods are natives of the twin planets of New Genesis and Apokolips. Apokolips is a fictional planet that appears in American comic books published by DC Comics. The planet is ruled by Darkseid, established in Jack Kirby's Fourth World series, and is integral to many stories in the DC Universe.
