Deschênes District
Deschênes District (District 3) is a municipal electoral division in the city of Gatineau, Quebec. It is represented on Gatineau City Council by Caroline Murray of Action Gatineau. The district is located in the Aylmer sector of the city. It is one of five districts in the sector. When the district was created, it included the neighbourhoods of Deschênes, Parc-Champlain, Lakeview-Terrasse, Mountain View, Kilroy Crescent part of Parc-Connaught and a number of new subdivisions in the north and east part of the former city of Aylmer. In 2013, the District lost some territory to the new Plateau District. Gatineau City Council
The Gatineau City Council () is the governing body for the mayor–council government in the city of Gatineau, Quebec, Canada. It is composed of 19 city councillors and the mayor. The Mayor of Gatineau, mayor is elected At-large, at large, while each councillor represents wards throughout the city. Council members are elected to four-year terms, with the last election being on 2021 Gatineau municipal election, November 7, 2021. The council meets at the Maison du Citoyen in the Hull, Quebec, Hull sector. Much of the council's work is done in the standing committees made up of sub-groups of councillors. Mitigomijokan District
Mitigomijokan (District 5) is a municipal electoral division in the Aylmer sector of Gatineau, Quebec, that has been represented in the Gatineau City Council since the 2021 municipal election. Mitigomijokan means "place of the oak" in the Anishinaabe language. Plateau District
Plateau District (District 4) is a municipal electoral division in the city of Gatineau, Quebec. It is currently served on Gatineau City Council by Bettyna Belizaire of Action Gatineau. The district spans the Aylmer and Hull sectors of the city, and contains the Plateau neighbourhood. The district was created for the 2013 election from parts of Deschênes District and Plateau–Manoir-des-Trembles District. Following the 2021 redistribution, the western half of the Plateau was transferred to the new Mitigomijokan District. Deschênes, Quebec
Deschênes is a former municipality in Quebec, Canada, located in the Outaouais region. Along with Lucerne, it was a part of the municipality of Aylmer in 1975, itself amalgamated into the City of Gatineau in 2002. Originally, the name of the village was ''Deschênes Mills''. History Traces of human presence dating from 6-8000 years before today have been found in the Ottawa Valley (Outaouais region).
